JJT036 Posted October 30, 2009 Report Posted October 30, 2009 Nice Ke36 you've constructed mate... Good Job !!! We would've loved to see the Rebuild Photos, but it's a shame about the Incident. I have a Few Questions: - Do you happen to have any pics of the: Back, Front, Otherside, Interior, and Engine Bay?? - What is the name of the Colour of the Car?? - What Motor are you running in it?? - Do you have a Name for it?? Cheers, Josh :2thumbs: Quote

notthatkindoforc Posted November 1, 2009 Author Report Posted November 1, 2009 (edited) lolwot? :2thumbs: yea, well when we got it, it hadnt moved in about 5 years, it was a project by a friend of my fathers, he gave up on it, when we got it it had been sanded back, and had undercoat put on it, unfortunately this guy didnt know much about painting cars...he put dulux house paint undercoat on it.... took about 3 months to sand it off as it had gone like steel. the engine still ran after 5 years, but needed alot of TLC, water pump, dizzy, new gaskets all over, new regulator, coil, pretty much every part in the engine. the paint job was the most expensive part, coming in at just under 2grand yes it is a ke36 sorry, i had a dyslexic moment with the keyboard when i posted this.... my bad its running the 3k engine, original. but mostly rebuilt now i have some enticing gossip for those interested. this ke36 pannelvan isnt like all the other ones youll find driving around aus.... this one.... was custome built in japan in 1974, it was one of only 2 ever built there and shipped to aus, it was reg in 75, in short. it was made from a higher grade steel, it has no rust on it what so ever. and by 'no rust' i mean nothing, we had this car back to the chassis, there is nothing on it... and its spent most of its life outside. its 'recomended' fuel octane is 98 or higher. because even back then I'm told the Japanese used higher octane fuels. and to add a twist to the story, a small world later, i met the guy who at one point owned my cars brother, the 2nd of those 74 custom built corollas.... small small world... i have a single photo of the other one around somewhere ill see if i can dig it up for yous. the paint job is actually from a VK commodore, its a holden colour, called "dove silver", its the closest we could find to the original silver of the inside of the doors... more pics: Edited November 1, 2009 by notthatkindoforc Quote
