WHICH REMINDS ME I NEED - A PASSENGERS SIDE FRONT FENDER - A NEW BOOTLID - THE LIGHTS ON THE FRONT VALANCE - ASHTRAY - THE CHROME TRIM AROUND THE CAR - TWO FENDER BADGES I MAY NEED MORE PARTS ALONG THE WAY BUT THESE ARE WHAT I REALY NEED AT THIS STAGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 68krolla Posted November 5, 2009 Author Report Posted November 5, 2009 Cheers boys, its good to share the passion... well there hasnt been a huge amount of progress in the past few days besides more paint stripping and thank god I'm at the last stages of that. The next big part is going to happen next friday when the bloke across the road will be firing up his sandblaster to clean up the firewall and little spots of rust and hopefully if there is enoughlight left in the day to have everything sprayed in primer! But there are a few things i need to have done like Make sure all the paint is off and Undercoat the car in that black shit. Oh and as you can see in the picture that is why i need a new fender haha!! Quote
PMP020 Posted November 7, 2009 Report Posted November 7, 2009 the amount of bog on that gaurd makes it look like someone was going for a 'wide bodied' ke10 look. awesome :) cheers, scott Quote
68krolla Posted November 10, 2009 Author Report Posted November 10, 2009 (edited) Well I'm coming to the stages now where i want to source a diff and get all me under body parts sorted. Now i have three options 1. VS SS or VN SS 2. Borg Warner 3. Hilux At the moment I'm keen on the ss diff because i know of somebody who has one in there SR Ke20 and it works well for him and it also has the stud pattern i want to run. But tell me your suggestions and hopefully i will have a good idea on what i'm gonna get. Oh and not forgetting its going to be supporting a 4agte!!!! Edited November 10, 2009 by 68krolla Quote
SLO-030 Posted November 10, 2009 Report Posted November 10, 2009 Hi-Lux will be near indestructible. Plenty of ratios and center options for them too. If you want to run the commodore 5x120mm pcd as opposed to the Toyota/Ford 5x114.3 then get the axles redrilled. Considering your gonna have to get it shortened/mounts swapped etc, i don't think a stud pattern should get in your way. Looks like the project is really flying along  Quote

68krolla Posted November 14, 2009 Author Report Posted November 14, 2009 (edited) On friday we thought we might just tidy up the front end and all it cost me was a carton!!! I got a few cool shots in the process. THe car is now being primed on monday because we found a bit of rust i want to cutout.. Edited November 14, 2009 by 68krolla Quote
68krolla Posted November 16, 2009 Author Report Posted November 16, 2009 WOOHOOOO more progress. I used a marine grade epoxy primer throughout the entire car. i still have bits of rust to cut out but i didn't want the bare metal to be sitting there for too long. feel free to leave feedback guys!!!
