I was told it should fit in easly but don't really know much about the mechanics Quote
67Rolla-Ken Posted October 27, 2009 Report Posted October 27, 2009 Rather pointless question (not having a go at you just trying to help  ), we have a KE10 on here with a big block V8 in it... If you're happy to cut the car to bits, anything can fit. If not, no it wont fit. The car will never be roadworthy and, unless you spend big dollars will be a pig to drive. Quote

Thats good to hear as i really don't know much about mechanics........ why wouldn't it never be able to get roadworty if i got it enginerred and what do you mean by drive like a pig? Well what would you do if you had a 5l out of an ss and a ke30? Quote
gould Posted October 27, 2009 Author Report Posted October 27, 2009 Actually i know why it wouldn't be roadworthy Quote
h1_roll4 Posted October 27, 2009 Report Posted October 27, 2009 (edited) Thats good to hear as i really don't know much about mechanics........ why wouldn't it never be able to get roadworty if i got it enginerred and what do you mean by drive like a pig? Well what would you do if you had a 5l out of an ss and a ke30? it would handle like crap. It'd be extremely front heavy so you'd have to spend alot on suspension work to even things out. This would also make steering really heavy. And given the width of an 8 it would probably limit the steering lock. And what ive picked up as a rule with engine conversions is anything will fit in anything. Just depends how much time and money you've got as to how insane you can go. Also, you should never put an engine in a car just because you have a spare whatever in your backyard. Edited October 27, 2009 by h1_roll4 Quote
Xany Posted October 27, 2009 Report Posted October 27, 2009 Well what would you do if you had a 5l out of an ss and a ke30? Sell the 5L or paint it blue and send it to the bottom of the deep blue where it belongs. With the money you get from selling the 5L....you may be able to put a decent engine in the corolla without actually butchering it. Quote
curly Posted October 27, 2009 Report Posted October 27, 2009 the easiest way would be to make a frame and mid mount it, use a G50 porsche 5 speed flipped then flipped, independant rear suspension, then figure out the 5L doesnt make any power so change that to a gen 4 motor, fully cage it and race it as a sport sedan cos they sure as hell wont let you drive it on the road, sounds all to easy with limited mechanical knowledge, talk to an engineer first Quote
SeptemberSquall Posted October 31, 2009 Report Posted October 31, 2009 I came into this thread intending to ask why you would want to put a 3 litre diesel hilux motor in your corolla (5L)... ...then was shocked to find you'd had an even worse idea. Quote
rob83ke70 Posted October 31, 2009 Report Posted October 31, 2009 lol!!! I did have that thought I must admit... put a 2gr-fe, or a 2zz-ge, or something of a similar nature into it, you'd scare the pants off everyone. The last 5 litre holden v8 I drove was abysmal to say the least... and I've driven a LOT of fast cars now. Robert. Quote
sleepercorty Posted October 31, 2009 Report Posted October 31, 2009 heres a good reason that you should do it, Quote
rob83ke70 Posted October 31, 2009 Report Posted October 31, 2009 yeah thats a smart place to be "racing" too... Quote
