Sam_Q Posted October 26, 2009 Report Posted October 26, 2009 you need to measure the diameter of the friction surface, know how to do that? the outside of your abrasive material on your friction plate would be a fairly accurate way to go Quote
AE80Rollaguy Posted October 26, 2009 Author Report Posted October 26, 2009 yeah, thing is i wanna get the right one before i pull it apart , are the na 4age's the same? Quote
Sam_Q Posted October 26, 2009 Report Posted October 26, 2009 being a fwd there are 4 possible sizes: 200, 212, 225, 230mm so no Quote
AE80Rollaguy Posted October 26, 2009 Author Report Posted October 26, 2009 if i knew my type of gearbox would that help?? its the lsd version Quote
Sam_Q Posted October 26, 2009 Report Posted October 26, 2009 no, afterall all are interchangable so someone could of swapped it Quote
AE80Rollaguy Posted October 26, 2009 Author Report Posted October 26, 2009 no, afterall all are interchangable so someone could of swapped it This is true man! so if i order one of each kit i should be right haha!! Whats the most common do you think?? ive had a look round the splines are the same by the looks of it, but just the clutch diameter varies Quote
Invisible Dark Posted October 26, 2009 Report Posted October 26, 2009 Does much of this info apply acros the board? Got a similar problem and need for info on my ae92 4AF engined car (see the thread further down) Quote
quadeyquade Posted October 26, 2009 Report Posted October 26, 2009 Majority of the factory supercharged engines had the 234mm I think( or whatever the factory 4agze came with). but as yours is the ae93 which didnt come with it stock, there is no way to tell without pulling it apart. With the guy with the 4af, it's most likely the stock one. Quote
Roo Posted October 27, 2009 Report Posted October 27, 2009 get a 234mm clutch plate as that what must likely be behind a fwd 4agze Quote
Sam_Q Posted October 28, 2009 Report Posted October 28, 2009 there is no 234mm that I know of, only 225 and 230 for the ZE engines. All FE engines have a 6 bolt crank my short guide: http://s-86.com/s-flywheels.html Quote

beerhead Posted November 4, 2009 Report Posted November 4, 2009 Hey, heavy duty clutches are good, just don't get a PRB Clutch Industries clutch of any variety with a powerful car, slip it once and get the friction material hot and they slip for ever more. As everyone said, there's no way to be 100% certain until you remove the motor from the gearbox. There's a chance they may have been lazy and just used the factory gearbox. BTW All the atmo 4A's have the same spline, but I'm fairly sure though the GZE has a bigger spline. Quote
Sam_Q Posted November 4, 2009 Report Posted November 4, 2009 I don't think thats right, I will do a check Quote
beerhead Posted November 4, 2009 Report Posted November 4, 2009 Straight off Exedy's web page - 4AGE 24.1mm x 21 spline 4AGZE 28.9mm X 21 spline (Same as a W55) Quote
