parrot Posted October 25, 2009 Report Posted October 25, 2009 No idea what you are running or how it is breaking, but the front wheel drive pump is different to a RWD one. FWD isn't designed to have a fan bolted to it, plus the nose of the FWD pump is from memory longer. So, depending on what combination of pumps and pulleys you are running in rear drive configuration, possibly the belt deflection is loading the pump excessively? Does everything line up, or is the belt running at an angle? Quote

The rwd pump is longer to get the blades of the clutch fan closer to the radiator core. Quote
parrot Posted November 4, 2009 Report Posted November 4, 2009 Actually rediscovered this the other day http://www.rollaclub.com/board/index.php?showtopic=19896 May be helpful. Quote
mungi mods Posted November 4, 2009 Report Posted November 4, 2009 twin thermos no clutch fan... also if fwd pump the engine deflection under accelleration, decelleration may be putting stress on the pump depending how you re-routed the lower hose back to the radiator... Quote
