Does anyone know if the KP61 Starlet has the same diff size as the KE1* ?

No, the kp61 has 6" U-series same as ke3# and late ke2#s while the ke1# has 5.7" B series , same as the early ke2#s

Kp 60 and 62 have 5.6" X-series diff centers.

^^^ Semi true semi not true..LOL

KP centers will fit in a KE1X diff they how ever did have a U series diff. But there are 2 types pending year of the KP61 was made depends if diff will fit.

Look at my KE15 build thread notice the centres on the last page.... there for KP61/KE. And they fit.

Cheers

I'm running a 6" ke35 diff center in the diff housing of my ke15 with the original axles. Bolted straight in. Just had to change the rear yoke on the tailshaft that bolts to the pinion flange as the PCD is different.

I'm not totally sure about the starlet stuff as we never had them over here, but it wouldn't surprise me if it just slotted straight in with possibly a change of the tailshaft end bit and a new uni.

Question was if they were the same size, and the answer is no :(

Since you guys are using U centers with B housings and axels , axelsplines must be the same size.

X centers also fit in the housing but they use thinner axels.

Cameron: Nice find on those lsd centers. I'm also in the process of putting a lsd into my ke17 but I'm using a trd B series unit.
