Fear the Volvo... For they will outlive even the roaches when the apocalypse comes.

Teddy's brick is case in point... Once we sorted that wee little charging problem out, that dirty blue barge carried itself, an 800kg car trailer, TWO hilux gearboxes, driveshafts and t/cases, two sets of rims + tyres, a pair of seats, all my tools, and a bootful of various other heavy things I'd accumulated down there, 2000 odd f*cking kilometers from the Goldie to Cairns, only stopping for fuel and red bull.

Other than the oil leak (which I fixed) it didn't miss a beat.

My mate and I shared a Volvo once, yeah it was wild and we loved it but damn the thirst for fuel was bad :2thumbs:

Thirsty?

I have been driving Volvo's (2 & 3 series) most of my adult life, and have a Turbo Saab convert at the moment - I have not found them thirsty at all - especially on the open roads - european cars are made for autobahns which is why they drive so nice out here.

For a daily, can't beat old Swedes, cheap to own, maintain and insure - heaps of features and reliable as.

Good find - and as one poster already pointed out, once you have a 2 series, everything else pails in comparison - especially when you consider how cheap they are to buy as opposed to an old Commodore, falcon, or even Camry etc.

Man you should try an E32 or E34 BMW, your Volvo's will pale in comparison when you hit that first corner. It is amazing how you can buy a car that was $100-200K+ when new for under 10 grand these days. f@$k buying a commodore or falcon, I'd rather cruise in style in my E32 sports limo.

Euro cars are cool, way in front of anything japanese. When it comes to cars, the japanese are the ultimate in quality imitators, but the Euros are the true innovators.

I used to know a guy that had one of those volvos with worked 289 windsor in it. Was an awesome car, sounded mental with the exhaust dumped before the diff. Was a very different unexpected combo that really opened peoples eyes.

7shades, cool pickup, you should stuff a 2jz or something under the bonnet later on. :2thumbs:

That slammed wagon makes me think bad thoughts about Teddy's 240 wags, which I also have... :2thumbs:

And I think a 1UZ will be in order for the silver swede, as I can see it doing much much towing.
