Redwarf Posted June 22, 2005 Report Posted June 22, 2005 I was just going to say, that if we looked under nitephyre's bonnet, I reckon we'd find one of those. Quote
ronaV8 Posted July 11, 2006 Report Posted July 11, 2006 Hey guys just joined your club I found it because there was reference to my corona V8 Thanks for all the comments, it is good to know what other toyota people think This car for me was really just about learning how to do stuff It was quiet funny see what people thought the engine was It is a toyota 4V V8 out of the toyota century, alloy hemi 3.4ltr and the car has about 170kw at the rear wheels on the old engine before it was reconditioned. I will know soon what the slightly twecked new motor will have, lots of things have been improved. I will update my web site once this is done cheers Andrew Quote
lappy Posted July 12, 2006 Report Posted July 12, 2006 whoa awesome conversion the car looks awesome great job :hmm: Quote
pozman Posted July 12, 2006 Report Posted July 12, 2006 i think it looks great, but the wheels let it down, needs to fill out the gaurds with some seirous dish, maybe something in a three piece Quote
Dan Posted July 12, 2006 Report Posted July 12, 2006 Closest thing to a muscle car that I've ever seen come out of Japan... f@$king sweet man... Quote
JiP Posted July 12, 2006 Report Posted July 12, 2006 (edited) HOLLY SHIT THAT IS f@$kING HOT!!! I'm not usually one for that style corona but dude, your've done a f@$king great job!! The bulge in the bonet looks muscley. You've got my vote. You've converted the ugliest looking toyota into something hot. I bow down to your feet. Sadly, i'm stil not a fan of the rear. Its still ugly. You need to rip the rear end from another car. Try the mustang celica., that'd look hot!! Or even the next model corona after this one. The bigger one. Jon. Nitephyre Posted July 12, 2006 Report Posted July 12, 2006 (edited) I was just going to say, that if we looked under nitephyre's bonnet, I reckon we'd find one of those. if i'd kept following this topic, i would have said you're right (or close too) mine being a 5V 4.0L :lolcry: I still like this car, still give kudos... Welcome to Rollaclub mate, hope you enjoy it here. Could you tell me what box it is mated to it? Cheers :) Edited July 12, 2006 by NiteP]-[yRe Quote
ronaV8 Posted July 12, 2006 Report Posted July 12, 2006 I have just got an adapter plate to fit a W50 celica steel case 5 speed, it seems to handlle it well. Apparently Dellow do a bell housing to siut this geabox or maybe the W55 + type. I think the car is a little ugly my self but it was built more out of the need for function than form. If i was looking to building a sportly looking car I would have choosen a supra or something. But saying that it stops well, goes well, handles OK and freaks people out when they can not keep up in their flash expensive cars. cheers Quote
Nitephyre Posted July 12, 2006 Report Posted July 12, 2006 hmm, so the adaptor plate is just mounted to the bellhousing.. made from thick steel i'm guessing.. did you need a custom shaft or whatever? any pics of it close up by any chance? Quote
demuire Posted July 12, 2006 Author Report Posted July 12, 2006 Oh hey look. Is it just me or is there a resemblance? Crysler's inspiration for the 300c? :lolcry: Quote
