OK, so I just got this home from Hobart, was my brother's, Mum decided it would be better for it to be used rather than rust away to nothing in their backyard, so she gave it to me......

It's a 1981 G10 Daihatsu Charade, 1.3 liter 3 cylinder 5 speed 4 door hatch, very original, minor rust on passenger door front and rear, sizable dent in rear passenger door due to my brother smacking his fence a short while after buying it, easy enough to fix.....

Rev happy little 3 pot seems healthy, nice golden oil, runs smooth enough (assuming I can start it, seems there's a knack I haven't found yet), gearbox has a nice smooth action, and it drives like a dream.

Basic idea is to clean it up and use as a daily until the 20 is ready, then becomes the wife's car to learn in and use as she see's fit. (assuming I can get her to get her license)

But awesome little car is awesome.

Charades rock.

PS. Drop a 4efte in it. They fit quite nicely :bash:

Yes, yes they do.

This interests me, will I be able to go up hills with this engine? :jamie:

*edit* Just did the google, and it makes nearly 3 times the power of the current engine, I RIKEY!

Get to a fairly steep one on the old highway and it's 3rd gear, 2500Rp/m and about 60Kp/h.......Or second at 4500 if you're in a hurry :jamie:

Gutless just got a whole new meaning...... I love it.

Nice car. Good to see your putting it to good use. Hey are those mirrors the same as the KE30 ones?

They are very similar, but I think the mirror itself is a touch wider, I'll double check this tomorrow......
