7shades Posted October 15, 2009 Report Posted October 15, 2009 Lexus LF-A would only require minor tweaking to be competitive against the falcodore garbage... Probably be cheaper too :jamie: Quote
RedKE30 Posted October 15, 2009 Report Posted October 15, 2009 ford also have the legendary mk1 and 2 escorts and the mk1 cortina. Holden (OR GM) never had anything in their league. Firstly, I'm a ford man. But, haven't you ever heard of a VL commodore? The model that spawned a few generations of wankers? Quote
BReNt Posted October 15, 2009 Report Posted October 15, 2009 VL's don't count because they had Nissan motors lol. Quote
Trev Posted October 15, 2009 Report Posted October 15, 2009 The VE commodore supercar is not a factory release anyway, The body has been modified for the wheel track, f@$k off the holden and ford bogan shitfight and put them in nascar style racing. Quote
mungi mods Posted October 15, 2009 Author Report Posted October 15, 2009 just what i expected... the ONLY factory part of that car is the floor pan everything else is made in house at 888 engineering over 1000 man hours and close to $150,000 sitting there not a single comment about the work or engineering involved ..all about ford vs holden they are the same less body shape since project blueprint all suspension pickup point and configuration, gearbox diff engine components etc just because it isn't a 25 yr old corolla it's apparently rubbish i know what i'd rather drive Quote

Props to the work involved though....that shit don't come cheap when its in a crumpled mess at one of the many racetracks they compete at. :jamie: Also if you notice, lowndes's car (probably because of ford pulling the sponsorship) has no Ford badges on it ANYWHERE.....not even the front grill logo, its a Hogs Breath Hog head. I agree the man can steer though. Pre ford pulling Sponsorship: After: Edited October 15, 2009 by Xany Quote
Bowler Posted October 15, 2009 Report Posted October 15, 2009 Looking at the catagory, it is sad that there are no longer "ford" and "holdens". But outside of that, the workmanship that has gone into the shell of that car (given that they have chopped about 100mm out of that rear door area) is astounding, and a real credit to their fabrication skills. They'll make great hotrod choppers at some stage. Quote

What I hate is that when ford wins everyone think it was because it was a ford or same with holden but it is actually to do with the driving of the car, If it was ford vs holden then ford would of copped the ve's extra track on the chin and went racing. Nitephyre Posted October 18, 2009 Report Posted October 18, 2009 That's a sweet body right there, no matter what panels get draped over it. I reckon bring back ATCC... Red vs Blue has had its day :) Quote

MYSTIK[RL] Posted October 19, 2009 Report Posted October 19, 2009 (edited) That happened at the same time of the media release about the ford>holden swap. ah no been like that since ford yanked all sponsorship when they launched 2009 livery i noticed that the were no ford badges, so in essence no ford sponsorship dollars = no ford logo on the cars :) plus i personally only watch the v8's for the endurance races nowadays :P Edited October 19, 2009 by MYSTIK Quote
