Felix Posted November 26, 2009 Report Posted November 26, 2009 The hubcaps look alright. 14" is the way to go, at least you can buy decent performance tyres in 185/60 for 14's these days. 12" tyres are gay. Only good for original restos and little else. The superlights seem to have some dish, I'd say you'd need to do some carving up of your ke11 to make them fit. Quote
LukeAE71 Posted November 26, 2009 Author Report Posted November 26, 2009 Well after some trial fitting I am happy with the Superlights. Will fit with the look I want perfect but yes some guard work is in order!!! Pics are crap because it is dark out there but you get the idea. Quote
ke11restorer Posted November 26, 2009 Report Posted November 26, 2009 I agree with Felix, although I am still in the hunt for a pair of performance wheels for the KE15! Quote
LukeAE71 Posted November 26, 2009 Author Report Posted November 26, 2009 In one of the front pics the wheels were not straight so it looks a bit munted. I will get the guards rolled and pulled to cover the wheels with some camber at the front to pull them ones in a little. Quote
Felix Posted November 26, 2009 Report Posted November 26, 2009 Yea, well depends on what you want, if you are after the look then hack that bitch up. Personally I found mazda 626 13x5.5" steelies with yoky a539 185/60r13 tyres fit the ke1x cars perfectly without scrubbing even with a load on. Ran them on both my ke15 and ke16. Perfect for hunting down bikes on twisty mountain roads. Quote
LukeAE71 Posted November 26, 2009 Author Report Posted November 26, 2009 So everyone do I get some bolt on flares or go all metal guards?? I keep thinking that the flares won't suit the body shape  And if flares do I paint them body colour or black. Quote
13BT_KE20 Posted November 26, 2009 Report Posted November 26, 2009 i vote you don't hack up the car to fit those wheels Quote
philbey Posted November 26, 2009 Report Posted November 26, 2009 I second that motion. But hell, I can't see how you're going to get rubber on those rims AND fit them under the guards. Quote
Taz_Rx Posted November 26, 2009 Report Posted November 26, 2009 I second that motion. But hell, I can't see how you're going to get rubber on those rims AND fit them under the guards. 165's might tuck under! Quote
LukeAE71 Posted November 26, 2009 Author Report Posted November 26, 2009 Despite how the car might look in the photos it is far from original with a respray, etc so this is why I am turning more towards hacking it up. If it was a truly overrated original then no way in hell Quote
nickyboy Posted November 26, 2009 Report Posted November 26, 2009 IF you want to hack up a car, your coming round to mine right now, we are awapping cars and names in rego and you can do it to mine. please don't hack this thing up, i still plan to buy it off you one day! Quote
