mumblezzz Posted January 5, 2004 Report Posted January 5, 2004 I'm set on a 4ag conversion for my car as it seems a waste of time to put in another 4ac to only rip it out in a couple of months time. So what I wanted to ask was what ingreients do i need to make sure this conversion isnt half-baked. I realise I need a: 4ag engine, loom, ecu, mainfolds, alternator. Anything I missed?? Fuel pump, surge tank. Any reccomendations?? Lines, hoses etc Have I missed anything important? What can i recycle from my old engine? Any help, tips, experiences would be appreciated. Quote
irokin Posted January 5, 2004 Report Posted January 5, 2004 You wont need a loom or ecu if your going 4A-G....4A-GE however :ninja: don't you hate it when I'm pedantic. Quote
Redwarf Posted January 5, 2004 Report Posted January 5, 2004 If your going carbs, you've gotta go Webers, although I understand manifolds can be hard to trace.... Quote
mumblezzz Posted January 5, 2004 Author Report Posted January 5, 2004 The clutch was replaced about 3 months ago, can I use it again or are they different between 4ac - ge? I'm sticking with the factory efi setup, nothing fancy, I just want to get it going again so I can get to work. :D I miss it already. What about a rollaclub help day, where everyone can come share their knowledge??? Quote
demuire Posted January 5, 2004 Report Posted January 5, 2004 You would think I should be able to answer these questions... But for some reason I can't... Either brain not working or data is not there... From 4AC to 4AGE all you need really is the engine, and bits to make it RWD (or if you find a RWD 4AGE then all the better). I think if you have a 4AC you can reuse like water pump and bits to convert the FWD 4AGE to RWD config. You can reuse your T50 and all those bits. Oh yeah, you'll need RWD exhaust manifold and pipes to join up too (I have 4-2-1 extractors that might be for sale). And surge tank, fuel lines, fuel pump etc. Quote
