KE55PIG Posted October 8, 2009 Report Posted October 8, 2009 i have removed bolts but can't get enough room to actually get it out ! seems to be hitting exaust manifold any tips to get it out ! Quote
ke30dude Posted October 8, 2009 Report Posted October 8, 2009 Undo the manifold bolts and pull them away from the motor, its the only way I found for 3xand 5x series, on a ke20 you have just enoguh clearance to get it out. Quote
KE55PIG Posted October 8, 2009 Author Report Posted October 8, 2009 That sucks thats what i didnt want to have to do lol Quote
BReNt Posted October 8, 2009 Report Posted October 8, 2009 I've had them out without un-doing the manifold bolts before it just takes a shit load of moving around lol and trying different ways but it's possible to take it out. It's even harder to put back in though! LOL. Quote
KE55PIG Posted October 8, 2009 Author Report Posted October 8, 2009 i spent 10 mins under there trying to get it out i gave up was givin me the shits and cut me hand open grr. lol Quote
seabiscuit Posted October 8, 2009 Report Posted October 8, 2009 i spent 10 mins under there trying to get it out i gave up was givin me the shits and cut me hand open grr. lol haha, you didn't give it a proper GO! :( If you do take the manifold off, make sure you try keep your gaskets intact! Although you should be able to get it out! I managed... :P Quote
philbey Posted October 8, 2009 Report Posted October 8, 2009 You shouldn't need to take anything off to get it out. You can do it in a ke10, you should be able to do it anything else. Quote
anastasios Posted October 8, 2009 Report Posted October 8, 2009 yea you can do it, just jiggle it, it is a massive bitch lol Quote
KE55PIG Posted October 8, 2009 Author Report Posted October 8, 2009 uill give it another go tomoz i need ot out coz a wire on me starter has came a litlle lose i have to touch it all the time to make it turn over lol Quote
Toy-Yoda[RL] Posted October 8, 2009 Report Posted October 8, 2009 One trick to make life a little easier is to undo the engine mount on the starter side and tilt the engine towards the drivers side of the car using an engine crane or if you are extremely careful, a jack underneath the engine....... By rights you should be able to get it out without doing that though, a stock manifold is relatively easy to get around, it's extractors that can be a royal pain in the arse....... Quote
