never Posted October 5, 2009 Report Posted October 5, 2009 hey guys, Hoping for a bit of help here. I recently put a 2tg into my rolla and of course expected the fuel economy to be worse than the 5k that was in there. Not this much worse though. Getting 16.5l per 100km under fairly normal driving conditions. Engine has mild cams and head work as far as I know and is running twin weber 40s with 32mm chokes. It was running rich and had machined out 34mm chokes and jets to suit then I got it rejetted with the 32mm chokes but it hasn't made a significant difference. So all you 2tg owners what sort of economy are you getting? And what carbs are you running? Quote
parrot Posted October 5, 2009 Report Posted October 5, 2009 Has it been on a dyno? You need to get it on one once you start fiddling with jetting & chokes. Ignition timing, cam timing and even incorrect float adjustments, fuel pressures can affect your economy besides the obvious answer of how you drive it. Check those things first before you start paying for dyno time. Quote
Bowler Posted October 5, 2009 Report Posted October 5, 2009 He drives it like a grandma...so no realy question about too much right clog... :) Quote
never Posted October 5, 2009 Author Report Posted October 5, 2009 He drives it like a grandma...so no realy question about too much right clog... :) mostly grandma style driving but occasionaly the intake noise gets the better of me and its gets a fair amount of 'right clog' as you put it. Quote
machg Posted October 9, 2009 Report Posted October 9, 2009 Probably not relevant, but my 2TG with turbo and Microtech is getting close to 10 L/100km or 10km/L driving mostly "off-boost" Quote
philbey Posted October 11, 2009 Report Posted October 11, 2009 Dyno. Granny driving or right clog action, a poor tune will chew juice. Quote
