rwdrolla Posted June 13, 2005 Report Posted June 13, 2005 bummer, i reversed out my mates driveway, and left onto the road, and hit a bullbar sticking out off a 4wd that was parked on the footpath at about 30km/h. was pitch black, and i was obviously not looking properly. the rear left panel is warped, the boot wont close, the tailight is in the boot, and the bumper is still straight. the tailight area looks like an eye socket. might just get another Ke70, and use this one for parts. Tiger Posted June 13, 2005 Report Posted June 13, 2005 Yikes... reversing at 30km/h??? I take it you were in a hurry? Sorry to hear about the damage to your car though :(( Quote
Teddy Posted June 13, 2005 Report Posted June 13, 2005 lol, crash number 2 for you. Bad luck !! Quote
Super Jamie Posted June 13, 2005 Report Posted June 13, 2005 check the chassis underneath, if it's not bent you could just get another rear quarter and weld it on with no ill effect. the fact the bumper's straight indicates it's only panel damage then again, it would probably be cheaper and easier to get another shell :(( good luck with it Quote
rwdrolla Posted June 14, 2005 Author Report Posted June 14, 2005 i was in a hurry to go get my pizza, that i had ordered. that will teach me. i might sell my stereo to afford a new car Quote
rwdrolla Posted June 14, 2005 Author Report Posted June 14, 2005 Heres the 2 main pics I've decided to make it legal (fix the tailight lenses etc) and be done with it. As long as it gets me from A to B at this stage, I couldn't care less. I'm going to focus on my mountain bike racing more, and stop spending money on my car. And u all know what that means... I'll be a passenger on the cruises. Someone call me a few days before the next cruise, cos I'll forget otherwise. Peace, out. Quote
mikeys toy[RL] Posted June 14, 2005 Report Posted June 14, 2005 MAN! that is SUCH an easy fix!!!! Quote
Teddy Posted June 14, 2005 Report Posted June 14, 2005 Remove the - Bumperbar - disconect the numberplate light unerneath - Tail light - Boot lid - numberplate - blackstrip above numberplate from looking at the pics, I'm not sure if it would be easier to re-shape whats there, or liturally cut that damaged section out down to the lip join thats covered by the bumperbar.. Too bad your not up here, id take great pride in trying to fix that :(( ! Quote
Jason Posted June 14, 2005 Report Posted June 14, 2005 Id see what you could do with a hammer and some bog first. Becuse it dosnt look that bad Quote
Super Jamie Posted June 15, 2005 Report Posted June 15, 2005 that is very fixable :(( i'd use another quarter from the wreckers, cos you've probably pulled the sideline and bootlip out of shape, but there's no structural damage from the looks of that Quote
rwdrolla Posted June 19, 2005 Author Report Posted June 19, 2005 she's all fixed up now :) $300 to have it pulled out, welded, and primered. looks new, minus the paint Quote
