tbo92 Posted October 3, 2009 Report Posted October 3, 2009 Hi all, have a 4afe at the moment in my ae92 hatch with a a strengthened gear box. I want to know will a 4afe gearbox fix a 4age 16v / 20v. if not.. will a 4age 16v / 20v head fit on my 4afe? Cheers guys. Quote

The gears in your box may be stronger, but the bearings will not be as strong as a twincam box. As for a 4age head on 4afe bottom end, yes it can be done, but a 4afe bottom end is not designed to live with 7500 rpm revs, and if you aren't going to rev it out, why bother? Quote
