Sweeet, Out with the old in with the new but old? :jamie: Just aerosol cans mate, did a nice job. The key is matching the paint code and with white it can't fade too bad. Its not the best way to do it, but its a 500 dollar car that will be driven alot so I'm not getting too heavily into the body. Just tidy and waterproof is the goal.

I just went and pressure washed the taillights and fitted them. Fresh silicon looks nice. That is all.
Jesseb369 Posted October 15, 2009 Report Posted October 15, 2009 (edited) Nice. I'm on here so late all the time!!! Well I just got back from Thursday night car cruises... Was good. Yeah. What about all these people, trying to sell their spirits that are "overrated" for $3500 when you got your red one for $500 was it? and a little bit of "TLC" and she comes par with the minters. Same with this car, Although you haven't stated how much you got for this one. Under 1G, I'm Guessing? That was just random blabble :jamie: Edited October 15, 2009 by Jesseb369

It was in worse condition than this one that I found for similar money. They both needed work, and were basically tired cars in need of a lot of love. Similar ks. Around 400 thousand. Not quite overrated but it certainly doesnt owe me 3500 dollars yet.
Jesseb369 Posted October 15, 2009 Report Posted October 15, 2009 Definitly. Then say you pay 3500 dollars for a car and you want to do all the crap you already have in your house waiting for it.. Woah.. looking near 8 large or so. I'm just trying to decide to get a 1000 dollar daily for a first car or a 3500 dollar car that doesn't need AS much work done to it. But hmm.

orangeLJ Posted October 15, 2009 Report Posted October 15, 2009 If you want to throw some underlay in, just go to any carpet store and ask for some recycled material underlay, its the grey woven fibre crap, like what removalists ues as blankets between furniture. Shitloads cheaper then buying from a trimmer or auto store too.

Taz_Rx Posted October 16, 2009 Report Posted October 16, 2009 Been ther done that. Had a carpet layer mate who got me some offcuts for free. I used it in my mazda to try and quiet it up a bit inside. Because I have a Knox moulded carpet I found that the underlay screwed around with the fitting of the carpet. It was just a bit hard to try and trim it round some corners and you end up with humps and lumps in it here and there. I've actually now removed the underly - Its not all that much noisey and the carpet now fits A LOT better. Just my 2c. :jamie:
orangeLJ Posted October 16, 2009 Report Posted October 16, 2009 I'm using knox carpet in the torana over underlay, no dramas. Ive got shitloads of underlay around home, works great for emergency hail blankets on cars you can't fit inside and for moving parts/furniture etc around in the trailer.

You don't have to tell me, I'm a cabinetmaker, we couldnt get by without removalist blankets. Heres some shots of the rear end nowadays. I couldnt resist pressure washing the inside again while its near stripped. The roof lining came out as sand.
