How the bloody hell are ya? hows the wheels and the car etc going? any more progress towards the conversion and suspension swapping? Its going ok. Terry came and fixed a small bit of extra rust for me the other day. Its been a bit too rainy to do much else. Once I get a couple of cans of touchup i will put the lights back in and do the rwc. Just gotta pull the roof lining out, fit the good interior, and touch up the paint. Once its got a roady the 4ac will be straight out and the 20v, ae86 diff and good suspension in. ;)
Jesseb369 Posted October 11, 2009 Report Posted October 11, 2009 Sounds likes you have it all sorted then mate ;) How much was your ae86 Diff by the way? Just wondering. And where do you go to get JDM spares from?

Just wondering. And where do you go to get JDM spares from? My AE86 diff was $700 in need of rotors, rekit for the calipers, crownwheel and pinion, and seals. I bought all new stuff for it, so it cost me in the end over 2 grand. Thats what a nice diff costs. Theres no point spending f@$k all on something shitty. The good things I got were axles, 2 way lsd and the housing and bearings. Everything else I redid. Jap spares come from Japan. ;) Hard to get but there are ways.
Jesseb369 Posted October 11, 2009 Report Posted October 11, 2009 hahaha. Fair enough mate. Yeah I agree. if your gonna do it you may aswel make your time worth it, right. in general hooning issues, With your Red car... What sort of cars could it keep up with in a sprint or straight away speed?? I know it would probably blow anything off the road with the cornering sides of things. What about the "go go"factor? Could it keep a V8? or a skyline GT or something?
ca18ae71 Posted October 11, 2009 Report Posted October 11, 2009 lol keep up with a skyline its not that hard rofl

Jesseb369 Posted October 11, 2009 Report Posted October 11, 2009 lol ca18ae71... Judging by your user name I'm saying you have a ca18det in your corolla ;) that should keep alot of things. I'm talking 20v  pretty much stock.. maybe with cams and a mild tune. Which I think little red spirit might have done. So just wondering what it will keep. Commodores are pretty slow in most cases so i was asking Gtr skylines etc etc. Stock skylines are easy as to keep in my mates magna i was talking turbo ones haha :(
Undertaker_is_the_best Posted October 11, 2009 Report Posted October 11, 2009 yea well this build is coming along nicely more pics lol if you can

I beat a lot of cars with it however. What I'm not responsible for is whether the other person can drive. I beat a v8 statesman, an accord Euro, acouple of Audis. I beat a boxster one day but I dunno what their effort level was like. I also went against a 5 litre vs ute with a bit of work done, I was one and a half car lengths behind at 130klm/hr when I gave up. That was with a 3.9 diff and a shoddy tune, too. The funnest, fairest race I had was against a Sportivo Corolla with a 2zzge. It was dead even, but I pipped him by about a half a car length. Its not a super fast car in a straight line. Its quick, but not fast. Its all about the corners.
Jesseb369 Posted October 13, 2009 Report Posted October 13, 2009 Mad. Thanks for answering :y: Yeah I'm pretty sure you could lose them through round abouts. Next time I'm in brissy I'll bring mine down for a good drive. I wont be in brisbane for awhile though hahaha :)

Stoked shes now rust free (if thats possible). :) I'm gonna have to do a wreckers run to get a new boot seal for it. The last one I used was from a Magna I think. Ill try and get some pictures done once its a bit tidier. The interior will take a while, the roof lining is falling out, its raining velour in there. Its like a pimp was a suicide bomber. I'll probably pay a professional to redo it at some stage if I can't work something out myself. Its a bit of a bitch the way a corolla roof linign is done, with the wire rods and loops and so forth. I'm gonna use the carpet from it too. I cleaned it with an engine cleaning gun full of degreaser and then terrys pressure washer. It took ages but it came clean as new almost, and has no rips or tears. It just had tonnes of oil in it so its come up awesome. I chucked an ssr mk2r on the white car to see what it looked like. On the rear it was great under stock gaurds. Had maybe 15-20mm of gaurd overhanging it, so it should just clear the inner lip and fit straight on with zero flarage. Not bad for 7s. I did notice that the inner edge on one wheel is a bit damaged. Its had a hit on something, but I'll just get it re-rolled, its just one and its only a couple of mm out. Woot!
