Jesseb369 Posted April 26, 2010 Report Posted April 26, 2010 I'm guessing that you didn't know that was there?
LittleRedSpirit Posted April 26, 2010 Author Report Posted April 26, 2010 i will fix that rear arch as soon as we have some 8 inch rims to fill those guards.. I rolled a shocky through the gap to fold the lip and that just tore open. Seems it was some metal, some bog and a whole lot of bitumuen body deadener. No Biggie. They will be beaten out and rewelded soon enough. Probably just a few more weeks and I can get the 15x8 southernways on all round.
ke70dave Posted April 26, 2010 Report Posted April 26, 2010 sounds like you are powering ahead with the beast matt! good to see it all coming together nicely.. unlucky about that rear guads though, but not so bad since you intend on re spraying anyway.

Thanks David. I sort of want to have it all pretty tight within 2 weeks. Might play with the vidigauge next. Should be nice. I really just want to hook up an o2 sensor and see what it says. I noticed that the little tin cover somone made to block off the 02 sensor hole in the headers leaks a bit, so I will probably just chuck an o2 sensor in there. I'm missing music too, but my rule is I don't install a stereo till I'm satified mechanically. Sorting out all the little noises takes time, rattles, securing things that flap round with wind etc.
LittleRedSpirit Posted April 27, 2010 Author Report Posted April 27, 2010  Thats basically exactly what happened. Damn you mother nature.
Jesseb369 Posted April 27, 2010 Report Posted April 27, 2010 is that a okay way to roll guards? As long as there isn't any bog and run in the Guards?
mungi mods Posted April 27, 2010 Report Posted April 27, 2010 (edited) its a quick way to roll up the inner lip, the little rust will be repaired very shortly , as soon as the new rims are together they will be properly rolled /flared to suit outers are almost here for the southern ways , they are currently getting their second heat treatment done to make them 6061 grade, should have 2 semi together (unpolished ) for a weekend test fit and photo opportunity. Trev Posted April 27, 2010 Report Posted April 27, 2010 Thats basically exactly what happened. Damn you mother nature. :) It's worse when you see your back guards get repaired and then go ahead and roll them like that. No one is to look at my rear guards on the red seca

No one is to look at my rear guards on the red seca :) As the video proves its not just me dealing with Toyota factory rust. I wanted tunes last night. So in went the old CD player and I decided to be neat about it so I made my own wiring plugs just like Toyota. I will run power feeds sometime soon so that I can hook up the vidigauge too. Its all gonna fit where the old radio used to. Shift lights and all.
LittleRedSpirit Posted April 29, 2010 Author Report Posted April 29, 2010 I got the biggest compliment ever on the performance of this car. I gave a mate a ride from MT Crosby to Jindalee. He asked, how do these go without the turbo? I ROFLed. :) So much faster than before.
LittleRedSpirit Posted April 29, 2010 Author Report Posted April 29, 2010 tune done? Not yet. Its not far out. Needs a fiddle.
