AE80Rollaguy Posted September 26, 2009 Author Report Posted September 26, 2009 aww good stuff man!! yeah ebay have listings for 4agze/4age head gaskets, what thickness did you use?? and is it hard to do it? what other gasket will i need? eg inlet, exhaust ect ect sorry for all the questions i just like to be prepared Cheers Quote
Roo Posted September 27, 2009 Report Posted September 27, 2009 um you need exhaust and intake gaskets, need to get some bluemax for the front water fitting. could do the cam cover gaskets and stuff too. not sure the thickness of mine, you will need a deep 10mm 12hex socket to undo head bolts and cam bolts Quote
Sam_Q Posted September 27, 2009 Report Posted September 27, 2009 standard for all 4age is 1.2mm compressed. Quote
AE80Rollaguy Posted September 27, 2009 Author Report Posted September 27, 2009 standard for all 4age is 1.2mm compressed. thanks mate, just a question why do people put thicker gaskets on? Quote
Sam_Q Posted September 27, 2009 Report Posted September 27, 2009 to lower compression and hance be able to run more boost. Although it works it's a flawed approach Quote
Evan G Posted September 27, 2009 Report Posted September 27, 2009 to lower the compression of the engine therefore more boost Quote
SLO-030 Posted September 27, 2009 Report Posted September 27, 2009 Try getting a hold of a top end gasket kit (VRS?) Will have every gasket you need from the head gasket up. I was looking for a headgasket and manifold gasket for my ute and it was like $40. compared to a top end kit that had all the gaskets i needed for $44.50. so it will probably work out cheaper. Quote
AE80Rollaguy Posted September 27, 2009 Author Report Posted September 27, 2009 a ful vrs kit for a 4agze is hard to find Quote
