5k Wont Start

hey guys, just got a 5k engine and put it in my ke55! problem now is it wont start, its getting fuel to carby and sparking, set the timing and still not going, not to sure about how the dizzy sits in and that...anyone git any ideas??

check the plugs? dissy mite be out of timing?

If it's not "kicking" at all, while turning over, chances are it's either a fuel problem or electrical problem. Best starting point is to

spray some start-ya-bastard, aerostart, etc. down the throat of the carby/s and see if it kicks. If it does, it's a fuel problem, if not,

obviously an electrical problem. It's pretty hard to work out why a car isn't starting over an internet forum. :jamie:

you need, fuel spark and compression to get it started

 

so check them all

 

so its cranking? does it sound like it going to start? any back firing?

 

you might have the timing out or the spark plug leads mixed up

sort of sounds like your dizzy is set 180 degrees out, ie its set to fire on TDC exhaust

yep the timing was way out, got it started, now not starting again!! and when it was going i had to keep my foot flat to the floor to keep it going?? ill try get it going good then sell it, going to put it on here now, going back to nz.. cheers guys

sounds like the idle circuit on the carb is farked. Swap the carb over with another if you have one. :jamie:

ok guys its not sparking now!!! power to the coil, but theres 12v at the resistor?? can someone put up a picture or diagram of how it hooks up..thanks
