altezzaclub Posted August 29, 2010 Report Posted August 29, 2010 Doesn't that only cut off the idle circuit Evan?? So you can unplug that cutoff but drive the car if you don't let it idle... Quote
Evan G Posted August 29, 2010 Report Posted August 29, 2010 really? ill try it going to work 2moro :P Quote
jono1986 Posted August 29, 2010 Report Posted August 29, 2010 That's the first thing to look at if a corolla drives fine but doesn't idle...learnt that the well not hard way but the long way. Quote
altezzaclub Posted August 29, 2010 Report Posted August 29, 2010 I'm thinking of getting one of these, putting the leads on, turning it upside down, fitting a cardboard 'dam' around the outside edge and pouring it full of epoxy! That makes it difficult to undo the leads... Another option is a magnetic reed switch behind the dash that opens a circuit to a relay. You put a magnet on the dash (or where-ever) to make the car live. They have some potent little magnets these days, but the trouble is that you really need to easily kill the battery power, so it needs to be a fat relay taking starting current every day. Quote
xmoht Posted August 29, 2010 Report Posted August 29, 2010 Everyone's thought it but I thought I should post anyway. Quote

SLW42 Posted August 29, 2010 Report Posted August 29, 2010 To protect your car get the anz falcon (the bird, not the car) to watch over your car, like it's watches over your money hahahaha :P Quote
ke70dave Posted August 29, 2010 Report Posted August 29, 2010 if someone really wants to steal your car, they will steal your car. they will bring a flat bed truck and just drag it up by the front bumper if they have to. and if i was going to steal a car i woudl bring a flat bed with a Faraday Cage around it, so the little GPS locater things didnt work!:P you just need to deter the joy riders. steering lock, an alarm, a kill switch maybe. but on a K motor if you can unlock the steering, just need a new wire between the battery and your coil, the same thing for the fuel solenoid, push start it down the road, and off you go... i think that the dinosaur on the roof is a far more effective solution. Duckman Posted August 29, 2010 Report Posted August 29, 2010 I like the high tensile steel rod to gear shift idea. Simple, old school but seemingly effective! Quote
