SLO-030 Posted February 18, 2010 Author Report Posted February 18, 2010 Small update. While dealing with some spare time in the pneumatics lab at TAFE i wrote up all the things i've bought for the wagon (including the wagon itself) plus a bonnet I pick up tomorrow, the grand total comes in a tad over $2,800. Factoring in oter stuff like wheels, engine work, diff bearings and all the other little crap. I think i can get it VERY close to being on the road for around the $6-7k mark. Some may have other opinions, but i think that pretty bloody good. Bead Blasted RA60 Hubs; Oh and got these too LCA with Ball Joint and Bush Idler Arm Pitman Arm Outter Tie Rod Inner Tie Rod Castor Bushes and Crush Tubes Sway Bar D bushes with sway bar and bracketry CHEERS Ryan Quote

skd30 Posted February 18, 2010 Report Posted February 18, 2010 mmmm wagon, had a bit of a scan through here...lookin good. had a ke38 bit under a year ago but was chokers with rust and had the ke30 2 door on my mind so i let the shell go....after i pulled the camber tops and box out and wheels off. I very much want another one though. looked like this Quote
SLO-030 Posted February 18, 2010 Author Report Posted February 18, 2010 Cheers!! 38 looked good there Skd. Definatly getting harder to find em, and even moreso Pano's. Quote
skd30 Posted February 18, 2010 Report Posted February 18, 2010 (edited) yeh was a good pickup...engine was shot when i got it, tiney hole in the piston and i flogged it till i broke lol. pulled the motor out and then lost my license for 8 months (SH*T!)...so i sold the shell to some other guy in newy...not sure if he ever got it goin. would have needed a pink slip by now and i highly doubt it got through..unless he knows the right people lol. Yeh looked good form a distance, had bad rust in all the usual spots though(all quarters, roof, back door on the floor etc), one good thing is it didnt have any on the chassis. SLO-030 Posted February 20, 2010 Author Report Posted February 20, 2010 Picked up my bonnet yesterday from a nice chap called Nigel. In absolutely overrated condition. Mainly because it was made back in 04/05 and been in storage since a couple weeks ago. I put it on and all seems to line up well :hmm: Also got the castor rods and Idler arm in. So much easier working inside the engine bay from underneath since theres nothing in there. Love it. Quote
SLO-030 Posted February 20, 2010 Author Report Posted February 20, 2010 Alrighty, Big f@$k up on my part. As part of my brake upgrade, I need XT130 struts, XT130 hubs and RA60 discs. Now I've gone out and got RA60 Hubs and just realised i didnt need them :hmm: Up for sale is the RA60 hubs. Need to sell so i can get some XT hubs and bearings. FARK!! Quote
Evan G Posted February 20, 2010 Report Posted February 20, 2010 nawww they looked preeeeety aswell :hmm: Quote
SLO-030 Posted February 20, 2010 Author Report Posted February 20, 2010 Buy them then. $50, tis what i paid for the bearings along. I need to buy XT130's Urgently. Quote
LukeAE71 Posted February 20, 2010 Report Posted February 20, 2010 Do you need XT130 twin piston calipers?? I have some here I 'bought' from U Pull It You can have them for the grand sum of free :) Quote
SLO-030 Posted February 20, 2010 Author Report Posted February 20, 2010 Thanks for the offer Luke, But I'll have to decline. the brake upgrade uses XT130 struts and hubs, RA60 discs (258x20) and MX62 single piston calipers. The reason the MX62 calipers are used is because the Sumitomo twin piston caliper would need a spacer plate to fit over the wider disc. Luc reckons his MX62 rotors are 2" bigger than std KE30 brakes, and these have another 10mm over the MX62's. Quote
greenmac80 Posted February 21, 2010 Report Posted February 21, 2010 the table i have says they are both 10" discs but the ra60's are thicker by 2 mm Quote
SLO-030 Posted February 21, 2010 Author Report Posted February 21, 2010 I've read MX62 = 248 and RA60 = 258 :) Quote

Last time I asked, he had sold both, no worries, mine isn't too bad. I wondered what other nutjob wanted NOS wagon parts :) Still waiting on the 3RZ bottom end, Got new front struts together, bushings, and some 13x7/8 steel wheels. Been building a Jeep truck the last week or two. Quote
