Panda E38 :)

Luc stripped back the tailgate as we are hopefully getting a panel beater to work his wonders on the cars in the near future.

I didnt do much (if anything) on thw wagon this weekend. Although i did almost complete the chassis welding of the 55, mutilating Luc's flares and pulling apart then dumping a few 4k's

Got a few more additions to the workshop tonight. A parts washer and Roller trolley/table. Stoked ;)

Also got an ABSOLUTELY AWESOME price on parts to rebuild the 5k. $380-400 excluding machining, and assembeling myself. Even more Stoked :D

Me either, mechanical stuff is getting closer and closer so i just can't wait for the bodywork to be finished so i can be in my element builing stuff ;)

And yep, its a sweet price alright. All ACL stuff apart from the pistons and rings which are Mahle, i think.

So if your out there, BIG thanks to the supplier :D

Alright, busy-ish weekend progress wise. No body work but I jumped the gun a little on the mechanical work |blink|

Stripped and cleaned the head, along with valve springs, retainers and rocker gear.

Separated the rods and pistons. Cleaned the rods. will be sent to Charlick when it the rest gets balanced to have the wrist pin bushes changed.

Image445.jpg

Dismantled, cleaned and re assembled the oil pump. Will open it up again to give things a good coat of assembly grease. Looks shimk as.

Image453.jpg

Cleaned the bell housing supports, alternator mount and lift hook. Supports and mount will go to work to have the shit shot blast off of them then powdercoated. Lift hook will be getting passivated along with a shit load of bolts to make them all shiney and new again.

Some 4K Vs 5K stuff.

Sumps

Image450.jpg

5K sump on the top. Slightly bigger than the 4K sump. Features internal baffling and a low oil sensor (broken). 5k sump will bolt to a 4k block, providing you have the 5K oil pick up. Simple upgrade for a performance 4k to increase oil capacity and reduce oil movement.

Oil pumps

Image452.jpg

5K pump on the right. Has a smaller pick up filter, to clear the baffling. Pick ups are interchangable if you need a 5k oil pump and only have a 4k one sitting around. More than likely indentical internally.
