Hey guys, thought i would once again turn to the forums for some advice!

I drive a AE92 csi limited hatch, and i started thinking the other day, the fuel gauge seems to be all over the shop. The reason i noticed was, one day it was below 1/4 of a tank full and the fuel light was on, about 1/8th of a tank full. So i went to the petrol station and filled up with some petroleum. I took on 27 litres of petrol.....and when i got back in the car the gauge was showing full....assuming it is a 50litre tank, from 1/8th full to full is NOT 27 litres. Is it possible that there is something wrong with a sensor or the fuel sender gauge in the tank that is providing incorrect information to the gauge or something? I want to get it looked at, but don't know what to get looked at!! something dirty possibly?

Does the fuel gauge read full after you put those 27L in? AE92s are _notorious_ for short-filling, they should have a 50L tank but can often only take 35, there is a problem with the filler pipe that cuts out the bowser pump way too early, the fix was on Twincam.org for ages until JP deleted all his posts.

Well as i said, it was reading under a quarter full when i pulled in, filled it up with 27litres, got in and it said full.

Thats interesting about the fuel filler pipe. Can you remember what the fix was at all? It would be interesting to read....

As for the sender, what could be wrong with it? the rest of the car is in perfect condition, seems like a funny thing to die all of a sudden. I only noticed it when i saw how many litres i put in, then what the gauge said and i thought thats not right. Would i have to replace the sender? Where would i get one from i wonder.

The fix is something along the lines of removing the filler pipe and bending a little flap back/forwards, can't remember exactly because I've never had to do it (never owned an AE92).
