SLW42 Posted August 27, 2010 Author Report Posted August 27, 2010 today i spent abit more time on the paint work, I peeled back the left rear quarter panel and chris came round the other day and gave me some bog, so now i have bogged just under the fuel filler flap which is the only bit of rust in my whole car, :blinks: that i have found so far mind you i'm not about to go looking for it :bash: i've painted the rear quarter so it is minty fresh gloss black i wonder how long it will take to turn flat black again :laff: , i also painted the edge of the tail light black too so it blends in with the side of the car :jamie: anyways here are some pics this one is of the bog job i have done it's abit shitty but only to get it passed roady when the time comes and it painted looking minty fresh again :D here is the fresh paint compared to the rear door i painted over 3 months ago Quote
GJM85 Posted August 27, 2010 Report Posted August 27, 2010 You should give it a couple of layers of clear so the shine hangs around longer.... Quote
SLW42 Posted August 27, 2010 Author Report Posted August 27, 2010 it looks good when it's wet though haha :blinks: , yeah i'm trying to go for the flat black look though gav, but yeah once i start on the roof and get the roof pulled back i might throw some clear ontop of the gloss so the roof looks nice and shiney :jamie: Quote

SLW42 Posted September 1, 2010 Author Report Posted September 1, 2010 I need some people's opinions on a little thing thats been biting at me for awhile, i need to know weather or not to shave the rear door handle's or just leave them there and make them not do anything?, as the car will only be a 2 seater once it's back on the road, what do you reckon leave them there or shave them and make them only open from the inside of the car???? Depends on how much blue and red attention you want. If you shave them they'll probably just pull you over to check your compliance at which time they'll defect you. If you don't they'll only pull you over when they see you've got no rear seats at which time they'll defect you. Quote
SLW42 Posted September 2, 2010 Author Report Posted September 2, 2010 I don't think it will attract much attention untill there right up close to the car, and with the appropriate blue plates i think it should be fine? Quote
GJM85 Posted September 2, 2010 Report Posted September 2, 2010 I don't think it will attract much attention untill there right up close to the car, and with the appropriate blue plates i think it should be fine? agreed. they might make you weld up the back doors iff you take the seats out. Quote
SLW42 Posted September 2, 2010 Author Report Posted September 2, 2010 I guess it will be a call an engineer and see what they say sorta thing haha, i doubt i would need to weld the doors shut to keep it a 2 seater i think that just short of that i'd need to make sure the doors didn't open from the outside and stay locked Quote
Dann_m Posted September 3, 2010 Report Posted September 3, 2010 I guess it will be a call an engineer and see what they say sorta thing haha, i doubt i would need to weld the doors shut to keep it a 2 seater i think that just short of that i'd need to make sure the doors didn't open from the outside and stay locked Get it registerd as a 2 seater. you will how ever have to get either a sheet of thick ply or something to cover the hole that is behind the back seat that connects too the boot to get it complied. you can shave the doors so long as you get legal poppers with legal tabs bro. I've got to come drop off your spring clamps just been flat out at work bruhs but i will soon. shud be buying tims keto aswell this weekend :hmm: Quote
