Junior Posted December 30, 2003 Report Posted December 30, 2003 This may become a fairly large thread i think, but just wondering if people want to post pics of past and present rides. Nick may also be able to add them to the gallery from there too. I start by posting a few pics in a minute...Btw in the last 7 years I have in total owned 15 cars. Quote

demuire Posted December 30, 2003 Report Posted December 30, 2003 I haven't owned that many cars (budget has not allowed), but here is my ontourange anyway... #1: 1984 Mitsubishi Colt sedan (early 1999 - early 2000). Cheapest car I've ever owned, sold it for what I bought it, spent nothing on it while I owned it... #2: 1992 Hyundai Excel X2 (early 2000 - April 2001). Lost the most money on this, spent more than twice what I bought it for in maintenance, sold it for less than half of what I bought it for... Sadly enough, quickest car I've ever owned, with a 0-100 of just under 9 secs. #3: 1991 Mitsubishi Lancer CB GSR (March 2001 - April 2002). Great car, wasn't awfully quick, but handled a heap better than the Excel and was heaps fun to drive. Unfortunately spent too much money on this car too, yet a lot of it's time was spent in the workshop... Started getting into motorsport with this car, ended in tears: (BTW, those 16's are for sale too) #4: 1981 Toyota Corolla KE55 XX (May 2002 - present). Had no money (due to massive loss in rolling of GSR a month after spending more than $3K in suspension that I couldn't sell), bought it with every last penny I had. Fun car, slower than you can imagine, generally quite cheap, easily the most unreliable car I've ever owned. It's been pretty good the past few months though (probably because I've replaced just about EVERYTHING on the car) #5: 1981 Toyota Corona XT130 XX (Nov 2002). Bought simply because I wanted the struts, mags and seats. Also managed to sell the transmission. Unfortunately due to a stuff up never did get the mags. #6: 1975 Toyota Corolla KE35 CS (August 2003 - present). Project car. Don't ask me why, I can't answer myself. Quote
irokin Posted December 31, 2003 Report Posted December 31, 2003 Well Ive only ever owned two...no three cars. Only paied for one :ninja: First was a HZ Belmont wagon that I don't know much about because I wasnt really into cars back then as much as I am now. I know it had a small red motor (101?? something small). I got it for free. Drove it round my dirt paddock circuit, taught my brother (who was just 10 at the time) to drive in it. When we had to move house I put a for sale sign on it an parked it near the road outside my place (******) with $300 on the windscreen. Within 3 days someone came, payed and drove it away.... $300 profit on that car! :) Next is my 1973 KE20 corolla that my grandparents have had for donkeys years (1980 or earlier). They bought a new car and gave me the corolla. My mum wasnt happy because she learnt in the car (So did I) and she figured she should have been offered the car first. I disagree and I'm glad Ive got it. It was in a pretty sad state when I got it...and still is. Engine had gone 30 years without a rebuild. Steering rack was rooted (only JUST finished fixing it yesterday) and It had retreads on the back (YUCK). Very happy with this car...even though ive (and my dad) spent alot of money on it...Its a nice car to drive. Next is my first car I accually had to pay for is my KE30 4 door auto (yick auto). It cost me $50 + towing (diff was and still is rooted). Its full of rust and is destined for the crusher after I get everything I want off it. (Want anything? Come and get it people!! cheap cheap). I didnt know the true condition of it till I accually picked it up. It didnt really phase me as the tyres are in good condition and are going on the KE20 when I can get rims for them. Quote

I loved this car *sniff* Quote

Redwarf Posted January 1, 2004 Report Posted January 1, 2004 Road going: 1982 TF Gemini 1984 GJ Mitsubishi Sigma 1990 VN Commodore Wagon (First of the tow cars!) 1976 HJ Holden One Tonner 1996 VSII Commodore Wagon 2003 Mitsubishi Pajero. Others: 1971 KE25 Toyota Corolla. The Redwarf. Longest I've ever owned a car. 11 years. Closest to that is the Tonner which I had for 4 years. 2 x 1967 Isuzu Belletts, originally for Targa purposes, but never quite got there. About 5 or 6 Corollas of various ages and models for wrecking purposes. Quote
TOMsGPTurbo Posted January 1, 2004 Report Posted January 1, 2004 1, Ferrari GTO model car - in Poland 2, Lamborghini r/c car - back in greece 3, Toyota Corolla II GP Turbo - current daily driver / project car (its a REAL car too!) I do over 800km's a week in it. I unwisely spent all of my money fixing the damage to the old 3ETE engine, and later I pulled it out and put in a 4EFTE (GT Starlet) engine & gear box, MODS: pod filter cold air intake from the bonet scope! 2.25" exhaust, 15" 5 spokes, stereo, alarm, tinted windows, Boost gauge. for a STOCK: car it hosts climate control, power everything - windows, mirrors, steering, central locking, fully adjustable drivers bucket seat and passenger seat with built in bass engines. Some other cool things the car has stocko front strut brace, 4 wheel disc brakes, electronic boost gauge. Its a pretty crazy 1st car, so far it has cost me around 6-8 grand for the purchase price of 3 grand :ninja: I have also own 2 dodge vipers and a black Diablo plus a Ferrari 456 GT also I have a racing yacht in the making. (*coughmodelscough*) :) Tom :) Quote

mumblezzz Posted January 3, 2004 Report Posted January 3, 2004 1st car was a 1985 XF falcon  Hand me down from mum when i got my P's. Sold it to a mate and bought my current car the 86. The END. Quote
Redwarf Posted January 3, 2004 Report Posted January 3, 2004 I'm running the Dwarf for this year, as it'll probably take twelve months to build the new one. after that i don't know. May sell it, may retire it and sell parts. Dunno really. May build the new one and hate it. Fook: Datgirl's new car turned up from Perth yesterday, and it is gooooood! It's almost enough to turn me to the dark side..... Quote
Redwarf Posted January 3, 2004 Report Posted January 3, 2004 Try old school L18 1800cc with side draught Webers! I don't care what anyone says, but there is no better sound on this planet than twin webers at around 7000 rpm. Preferably heard in a forest, preferably at night. No modern car gets close. If I could bottle the noise and sell it, I'd be rich (and my own best customer!). Quote
Teddy Posted January 3, 2004 Report Posted January 3, 2004 - you can send the first bottle ova this way - :ninja: Quote
