Hey guys, just brought this off ebay

1980 toyota corolla

4k-c engine - just found out its got a suspected BHG, not too happy but apparently its not too hard to change?

4 speed manual

brown interior, apart from holes in the door trims where tweeters were and a few small dash cracks its in pretty good nick

Has crappy head unit / speakers which will make putting in new audio a heap easier

White, has a few small dings and scrapes but havent found any rust yet :jamie:

Only got it tonight so havent had a good look at it yet but looks like itll be some fun, hopefully get the head done soon then take it in for a roady and hope it doesnt need too much

Well ive started pulling the head off this morning, got as far as i could without a socket set but been pretty easy so far :jamie:

Been over the car and theres a tiny bit of surface rust near one of the wheels arches and thats all, although the front and back bars both have slight dents. Also found up all the wiring / rcas are there for a boot install and has pioneer 6x9s and clarion 4"s in the front.

Anyway heres some more pics of the car / progress. Ps - Located in Hawthorn, Vic

Plans are get it on the road then hopefully just do the standard exhaust / extractors combo, then eventually get a 32/32 carb and mild cam. Lower it on some 15s and put some audio in and just have a nice cruiser.

Its all up and running again and took it for a drive around the block and all seems well :no2: Hopefully taking it in for a roadworthy early this week so i can get some idea of what else it needs...

Didnt go tooooo bad but got picked up on a fair few minor things. The worst of it was: Windscreen needs replacing, New shoes+drums need machining, steering box has play (hopefully just needs adjusting) and 4 new tyres. Everything else was just little things like reverse globes, legal steering wheel etc etc. Anyone know where to get a cheap windscreen in melb?

Ok so an update is long overdue...

Managed to fix the snapped stud, got it all going, got a roady and everything was sweet. Got a shitty chrome air filter which is now falling apart and got a 2 inch exhaust as well. Picked up some eb springs cheap and planned to chuck them in with flipped leaves but then the bottom end decided to go. So ive spent the last 6 weeks or so pulling the motor and box out and looking for a new motor. (with bugger all tools this is hard)

Anyway heres a few pics, first ones are of the car when it was going, other 2 are condition of the motor now, will get bottom end pics when the motor is fully out, will be interesting to see what i find :)

She runs again!!!

On the weekend me and TE278U put a whole new 4k in (BIG thanks to you dave, top bloke ) And after charging the battery and changing the dizzy (not after hearing detonation for the 1st time :P) she ran! Have to take it back to where i got the exhaust done and get them to bend it up a bit as he did a shit job and it bangs on the diff all the time, after that ill think about lowering it and saving for some nice meshies..

And heres some obligatory pics
