Hey all

Ive got a few questions with relation to the *E7* (Ke70/Te71/Te72);

When you enter a car into a rally (like the one just passed), i know that you need your vehicle to have a motor that came with it from stock.. anywhere in the world.

Eg. Scott's Ke70 Rally car with the 5k.. its an NZ Ke70, with a 5k. They can get around it because in Japan, one of the wagon (and sedan) models came out with a 5k = they can use a 5k!

Basically, i know the Te70/Te71/Te72 came out with a T series motor, but to what i know, the T series 70's were all hatch back, 2 door things. Would the regulations be the same in that i could use a 2T series motor into my 4 door sedan Ke70?

Also, the 2T that came out in the Te70/Te71/Te72 ... were there any that came out with the twincam from stock? (2TG ?) - I'm getting uberly confused

Ive tried searching, but I'm not too good at reading Jap, and i think alot of it that ive found is more like "members rides", not nessarally a stock specification database...

I also realize its the block that needs to be the same from factory, not nessarly the head... etc.

Putting me in the correct direction would be much apreshated!

you'd need to use a stock block, with whatever head you want. this means a 3t-c block with a 2t-g or 3t-geu head or whatever

i don't see how the shape or model of the car matters, it's the same chassis. if i'm not mistaken, fook can put a 2t into his ke35 and it's still rally legal, even though the car is not a te37

i got to reply to this: the te70 sedan came out in new guinea & was fitted with a 3t.

square h/lites & steel bumpers

also the japs had a te71 coupe that had a 2t-gte fitted to it

got to love these corollas

*WOO HOO*

so that basically means, i "Could" put a relevant T series motor into my ke70, make sure i get all the other cams approved things for rallying as such, and it would be legit ? :) !!!!!!!

yep & the 2t-gte one was fitted with 4w disc brakes

something cool :) - Ae86 disk break rear end?

Ok, So lets say i did put a 2TG or something similar into the Ke70. And got everything else upto Cams Spec for Basic Rallying.. when i take it in to get approved and what not, how do i tell them / explain to them that this is legal ? Say something like this car has the same chassy as the Te70 in indonesia, and .. blar blar ?

Ohh gets excited :D

I think CAMS have homoligation papers for different models which state what engine can be used in what model. Give CAMS a call to check before spending any cash.

i'll bring it down to the all toyota day with me, hopefully you'll be there.

hasn't been a problem, it's just sitting there collecting dust.
