bundy Posted August 31, 2009 Report Posted August 31, 2009 (edited) Gday, bought this car a bit under a year ago and have been slowly working on it. Its a 1975 ke36. Its a fair heap but I love it, so far I have fixed the indicators, breaks somewhat, horn, removed heaps of surface rust from the engine bay, replaced the clutch, put 2" lowering blocks in the back and flipped the leafs. It also has 14x7 (0 offset) Globelines. I have some 4.5kg ###### springs for the front as well but they aren't in yet so it is still sitting way too high at the front. I plan to tidy the body up, replace front quarters and eventually respray it. Interior also needs some work. Overall car runs heaps well, brakes and handbrake are a bit iffy and still needs heaps of work. Here's a few pics. When I first got it: Now: With new plates If anyone knows of any good condition quarter panels, doors, extractors or front seats for sale shoot me a PM. Cheers  Edited October 9, 2009 by bundy Quote
JiP Posted August 31, 2009 Report Posted August 31, 2009 Bummer. If you were in Qld I would be able to help you with the parts you require. Great start for a project. Looks neat as and those new wheels look tough. Keep us updated!! Quote
36panvan Posted August 31, 2009 Report Posted August 31, 2009 good lookin base for a project, these wagons are sick. agreed, new rims look tough  Quote
PHATKE20S Posted August 31, 2009 Report Posted August 31, 2009 Nice starting point there I have a 1974 KE36 as a daily & I love it.... BTW those wheels are bloody Awesome Quote
Oh-KE Posted August 31, 2009 Report Posted August 31, 2009 Looking good. Those wheels are definitely cool .. Much rust on the body? Good to see you have got some new plates. I have heard of lots of people getting pulled over for worn out plates like your old ones recently. Quote
bundy Posted September 2, 2009 Author Report Posted September 2, 2009 Cheers guys, ^^ Yeah that was the main reason I got the new plates. There is rust in both front quarters down the bottom which seems to be pretty common, and surface rust here and there but that shouldn't be a worry. I put the new springs in the front today, 4.5kg ae86 springs from ######. Looks considerably better now but still looks horrible, needs fresh paint :P Quote
benzo Posted September 12, 2009 Report Posted September 12, 2009 Loving that height and those wheels, would be such a cool daily. Quality styling man Quote
JJT036 Posted September 13, 2009 Report Posted September 13, 2009 Loving that height and those wheels, would be such a cool daily. Quality styling man Agreed... All it needs is just a good Head-Turning Paint Job. It's looking good so far. Keep it up. Cheers, Josh :no2: Quote
36panvan Posted September 13, 2009 Report Posted September 13, 2009 ^^^i don't know, it looks tough already. if anything a mad engine combo to complement its looks :no2: Quote
benzo Posted September 13, 2009 Report Posted September 13, 2009 3T bottom-end with 2T twin-cam head and twin side-draughts oh and only colour you could consider for respray is the original bamboo Cheers, Ben. Quote
bundy Posted October 8, 2009 Author Report Posted October 8, 2009 Have thought about an engine conversion in the future but plans for now are body work and gettin her neatened up a bit. After heaps of messing around bleeding brakes, new brake booster etc. i've realised it was the master cylinder, so picking up a re-build kit for that tomorrow. Got some new mirrors, 8mm slip on spacers all round and $12 roof racks from a ke30 at u-pull it :P More to come Quote
SLO-030 Posted October 8, 2009 Report Posted October 8, 2009 Lookin good man. I made up some 9mm spacers for my 38 and once the wheel was on there was SFA stud poking thru for the nut to grab on to. I went down to the wreckers and picked up a bunch of sigma studs. the knurl is right so they should be a direct swap into a corolla. apparantly 8mm longer than stock corolla studs. Quote
36panvan Posted October 9, 2009 Report Posted October 9, 2009 good work mate, i saw this thing up in blackwood the other day and it looks sick :P Quote
nickyboy Posted October 9, 2009 Report Posted October 9, 2009 AAAAHHH bundy!!! my mate told me bout those roof racks, was going to get them for the ke20, went up there and they were gone!! glad you got them though looks chilled on the wags. i'll cruise up soon an have a good suss :P Quote
