Ae71Rola Posted August 26, 2009 Report Posted August 26, 2009 Hey guys ive come across a problem... i have no dash lights whhich have just recently gone out completely, previously they only went out wen the left indicator was on and they would flick off... so none of the dash lights work but the gauges still work perfect! ive check all the fuses and they look fine to what i can see! Now i also have no tail lights but have break light and headlights! the globes are fine and same with the fuses If anyone can help with the problem that would be greatly appreciated Tom Quote
Evan G Posted August 26, 2009 Report Posted August 26, 2009 prob check all your earths? get a multimeter check resistance Quote
Jimpoole Posted August 26, 2009 Report Posted August 26, 2009 Try the little variable resistor that varies the intensity of the dash lights. With age I believe they get a little 'crusty'. Mine will only work with a little manipulation, and turning it right up will actually turn it off, you have to turn it back a little. Quote
sammo[RL] Posted August 27, 2009 Report Posted August 27, 2009 If you've lost the parking and tail lights, it'll be a fuse... Quote
seabiscuit Posted August 27, 2009 Report Posted August 27, 2009 If you've lost the parking and tail lights, it'll be a fuse... Yes! There's also a fuse box next to the battery in the engine bay... This happened to me once. Blinkers worked, but hazards didn't in my case. Quote
rolla_boy70 Posted August 27, 2009 Report Posted August 27, 2009 its in the right hand kick pannel in your ae71 you find it easy and just swap it over Quote
LukeAE71 Posted August 28, 2009 Report Posted August 28, 2009 You have to wonder why they put an additional fuse box in a place where most normal people would not look!! Unless you have the owner's manual or you were looking under there for some reason (which is how I found mine) you would never find it :y: Right hand kick panel, replace fuse, problem solved I would say :S Quote
Ae71Rola Posted August 29, 2009 Author Report Posted August 29, 2009 Cheers guys, the fuse under the kick panel was exactly the problem... why the f@$k would they put another one there is beyond me!! but thanks to and autoelec the problem was solved $45 dollars later with new globes Cheerin!! Quote
mat_jey Posted March 9, 2011 Report Posted March 9, 2011 I had a similar problem. Was doing cleaning up my dash meter and with all of sudden, short circuit one of the wire.. Boom! Dash light, park light, and tail light stop working. Quote
