mate your motor should be a k4-c. it should be imprinted into the block on the drivers sie of the motor, and looking at some of the specs of the engine, i would say it is a k4c. they're are a good engine. mines done 142,000 km, first time around and no rebuilds.

the C stands for Carby......

hmmm......i wonder weather that would make mine a

5K - W.......hehehehe..... W = Weber...

Actually I thought the C was just a designaton given for emissions friendly engines, possibly C for California, the first place they really started cracking down on this sort of thing? 3K-B was the high compression twin carb motor, and there was a 3K-d as well...... *shrugs*

Thoughts?

meh.....i still reckon its easier to remember that c = carby....

hehehe....even though its wrong.....its still right in a way....buggered if i'll be saying that my engine is related to america.

just for confirmation..

Engine Codes

C = emission package (California)

I'm not so sure the "-C" in 4K-C means california emissions.

the americans had air injection pumps on their engines. these pump air into the exhaust ports of their engines, to dilute the exhaust gas emissions. we didn't get them on our 4K-C's. their 4K-C is different to our 4K-C.
