dfunkt Posted August 21, 2010 Author Report Posted August 21, 2010 df, I think we all go wrecker hunting. Any clue on what it looks like and where it sits? I'm off to centre road tomorrow to hunt pulsar parts. passenger side up near the firewall, should be mounted to the inner guard area. control cable comes from just above where the hoses go thru the firewall to the core. inlet (water feed from engine) from underneath, outlet 90 degree up the top, has a swing arm at the top that's cable operated to open/close the tap. http://www.toyodiy.com/parts/p_E_1978_TOYO...5R-KB_8716.html P/N: 87240-30271 http://www.toyodiy.com/parts/p_G_1983_TOYO...EHQEQ_8716.html P/N: 87240-30340 hopefully that gives you an idea of what it looks like. best of luck hunting :( Quote
Bamboo Posted August 21, 2010 Report Posted August 21, 2010 I've got the signal red corona. RT 81 http://www.rollaclub.com/board/index.php?showtopic=43347 Has a heater tap sitting on the inner left hand guard. Also came with a spare tap. Knowing our friends/fiends at Toyota who love to parts share, it maybe the one your after. I'll look down centre road and post up some pics of the one I have. Cost? I do like beer, if I find a match, 6 beers please. Boo. Quote
dfunkt Posted November 25, 2010 Author Report Posted November 25, 2010 (edited) I should keep this moving, even if it's only moving as slow as the whale does. So there's a few things that have happened in the last few months.... *EDIT: listed in order of importance it would appear.* Got some rear shocks installed, so now it's not totally floaty. Picked up a pair of Hayashi Bombers, from Otomoto, (14 x 7" +7) which I'm (still in the process of) cleaning up. (some pics of test fit w/out tires to be put here) Ordered/bought some Takeshi Project Hart wheels (15 x 6.5" +5 and 7" +2 according to the yjp Engrish) which should be arriving before x-mas. (you can google them yourself to see what they possibly look like) I was originally going to find another pair of wheels to go with the bombers, not worried if i have mis-matched pairs on it, but finding these i just couldn't say no. Now the only question is how much will they sit outside the guards. If I can somehow tuck them in all-around as a set they'll stay in my possession and be put on for special occasions, otherwise they'll be put up for sale and I'll grab a pair of something else. But i suppose the biggest thing was getting it completely cleaned inside and out in preparation for my wedding. (Sure the wedding was important, but this thread isn't about weddings, it's about the big red whale!) Oscar from OsCar Detailing drove all the way from Ringwood after lunch on a Friday, once he'd finished his morning appointment somewhere out east. took him 2 hrs or so in his Hi-ace....He worked on it til 8ish that night, slept on an inflatable mattress in our living room which my two cats joined him on, and started work again at 8am on Saturday to have it finished before my partner took it at 11am. It's a good thing the wedding was on Sunday afternoon and not the Saturday! I can't thank Oscar enough for his dedication to the cause......He's seriously a champ. There's a whole heap of photo's still uploading atm, so I'll come back and stick some in this post, as well as put the link to the wedding album, which has some of the better pics of the day itself. Wedding Album Link Oh yeah, and Adam, i haven't forgotten........I've got some pics of DeTomato in wedding guise uploading atm as well, so I'll put them in the correct thread later tonite/sometime tomorrow. cheers dF Edited November 25, 2010 by dfunkt Quote

dfunkt Posted February 13, 2011 Author Report Posted February 13, 2011 That poor guy in the back was so overcome, he had to wipe a tear from his eye. as Evan said, that's Justin with the MS55 that's in Adam's photo album.....he got all the oldies talking to him this year, was a nice change of pace for (the-car-formally-known-as) "Grandpa" and me. dfunkt Posted February 22, 2011 Author Report Posted February 22, 2011 Stu, don't you mean the Photo(Shoppings) were awesome! they got rid of the obvious flaws, but still left a bit of Grandpa's charm show thru (rear left quarter ripple, dents to the rear chrome trims, scrapes down the passenger side, but the furry dog on the parcel shelf is still the fave thing left from Original Grandpa). i might go buy another copy or two, just in case they get damaged from "over-enthusiastic readers" :D Quote
