camerondownunder88 Posted September 18, 2009 Report Posted September 18, 2009 When I mix bog I mix in a few spoons of iron fillings (from hardware shop). So when buyers think there all cunning and pull out a magnet to run over the car to find bog they don't  Iron filings make it magnetic and will even make it rust..LOL So that's about my limit...LOL Quote
Felix Posted September 18, 2009 Report Posted September 18, 2009 (edited) The 4k in my brothers old ke30 had a burnt exhaust valve and seat, and wanted me to fix it. He didn't have much cash at the time so I did it on the cheap. Basically I grabbed a valve from an old head and ground it in with the help of a drill (on the stem) and a heap of coarse grinding paste. Needless to say the valve seat had a nice curve in it. A cheap Vrs kit and she was back on the road for under $50 and a few hours work. Ran great for a couple of years until he got rid of it. He didn't change the oil in the 4 years or so he owned it. Think he bought a set of tyres and front brake pads for it, but didn't spend another cent except for fuel and a bit of oil to top it up from time to time. He's a shocker and has always run his cars into the ground. Edited September 18, 2009 by Felix Quote

beerhead Posted September 24, 2009 Report Posted September 24, 2009 Bahaha! Reminds me of mates paddock bashing in a WB V8 ute using a milk crate as a seat. Was a slut, there wasn't a shifter because the B&M had been taken so you'd crawl under the car and pop it in drive directly on the gearbox. Funniest part was there was $10K worth of receipts in the glove box for the reco 308 under the bonnet :jamie: i took the seats out of my wrecking ke30 and a couple days later i realised i had to move it out front, so i grabbed a old battery and sat on that LOL Quote

lilke70 Posted October 16, 2009 Report Posted October 16, 2009 (edited) the overflow hose on my mates car was snapped off at the bottle and it was inconvenient the car leaked about a litre of water a minute from the water pump so we put the hose from the washer bottle and connected it to the overflow bottle hose so when its running a bit dry we just squirt some water in and it gets us another 10ks before we have to fill the radiator and washer bottle up again.......... got 5, 2 litre coke bottles of water in the boot Edited October 16, 2009 by lilke70 Quote
