JRADSTRX Posted August 5, 2009 Report Posted August 5, 2009 don't forget the earthing.. i cnt memba.. but don't earth it to a cetain part or sumthing and stuff all your bearings up.. Quote
Taz_Rx Posted August 5, 2009 Report Posted August 5, 2009 don't forget the earthing.. i cnt memba.. but don't earth it to a cetain part or sumthing and stuff all your bearings up.. Like maybe don't attache the earth clip directly to a bearing. They slip off pretty easy anyway so maybe remove the so they don't get covered in slag, same thing with the crown wheel, don't be lazy and remove it. As for the welding the more you do the stronger it will be. Weld sun gear to sun gear, and sun gear to carrier, even a steel plate jammed into the sun gear and welded in place is good. Quote
hotrolla Posted August 6, 2009 Author Report Posted August 6, 2009 cheers for the advice people worked really well did it today its a dog to drive but its awsome fun and well worth it Quote
Taz_Rx Posted August 6, 2009 Report Posted August 6, 2009 Just be on your toe. Weldies will give you great oversteer....... but also give you shocking understeer. When driving it in the wet (and not trying to be a drift king) just go into corners a bit slower than you normally would. Quote
LukeAE71 Posted August 6, 2009 Report Posted August 6, 2009 weee clunk clunk clunk clunk, turn corner, hop hop hop, whine whine whine Honestly don't know why you would bother but hey :D I had one and it was so damn annoying :D Quote
adam-__- Posted August 7, 2009 Report Posted August 7, 2009 Welded diffs are annoying to begin with, but once you get used to driving with it, you learn 'how to drive' with it. You also need to find the right tyres for you as well. Some tyres chirp and hop more than others. Just get quality front runners and you'll be fine most of the time with a locker. Whining depends on how/who welded the diff I've noticed from experience. Quote
