chaff Posted August 1, 2009 Report Posted August 1, 2009 (edited) hey guys just wonderin how hard you all reckon it would be to put a injected 5lt into a ke70 and would it be worth doing changed my mind proli goin 2 put a supercharged 202 into a 70 Edited August 2, 2009 by chaff Quote
towe001 Posted August 1, 2009 Report Posted August 1, 2009 I think it'd be easier to fit the engine x-member from the v8 powered vk commodore to the skyline in your pic. Quote
chaff Posted August 1, 2009 Author Report Posted August 1, 2009 yeah proli would but a rolla is lighter nd look alot tuffer Quote
bLinded_ Posted August 2, 2009 Report Posted August 2, 2009 Hmm...Good points. Worth doing such an engine conversion just for those alone... Quote
love ke70 Posted August 2, 2009 Report Posted August 2, 2009 if your doing it, go the 5.7, the 5 litre is just a waste of time now. or even the LS1, can get the crate motor for 6K... Quote
chaff Posted August 2, 2009 Author Report Posted August 2, 2009 yeah but thats still abit of money i can get the motor nd box cheap for a injected 5lt but I'm kinda thinking about maybe chuckin in a supercharged 202 out of a vk Quote
greenmac80 Posted August 2, 2009 Report Posted August 2, 2009 just pick something... and go with it. anything is possible. any sorta engine like that is gonna be not worth it unless it is purely a burnout car cos you can't get it registered with engine that big. Quote
chaff Posted August 2, 2009 Author Report Posted August 2, 2009 yeah it wouldn be enginerd but ohh well when ya get defected rid out the motor chuck it in a new shell Quote
love ke70 Posted August 2, 2009 Report Posted August 2, 2009 in a decent conversion the motor tends to be quite a small factor in the overall cost Quote
chaff Posted August 2, 2009 Author Report Posted August 2, 2009 yeah i no what ya mean but i don't really wont the car 2 be show or top dead fast just for skids and a lil cheaper the a 5.7 Quote
KENut Posted August 2, 2009 Report Posted August 2, 2009 202's are for peasants. Use as much fuel as a 253 but half the powahs. And it'd be less effort to put a v8 in than having a six sitting partially in the cabin. Don't get me wrong, I like mouldy Holden 6 bangers, but the design is flippin ancient, and not made for huge powahs. So a v8 would be easier. Quote
coln72 Posted August 2, 2009 Report Posted August 2, 2009 Find something with more grunt that the "iron lion". Hell my Kia's V6 has more power than the VL Group A. Quote
chaff Posted August 2, 2009 Author Report Posted August 2, 2009 wouldn mind goin 253/308 but its not all that easy gettin a gearbox for them don't really wont the auto Quote

If you want a supercharged 60's designed motor then just go a 5kzc!! Won't be much slower than the 202, just a bit less torque..... and best of all it just sit on the stock engine mounts. Quote
