Trev Posted August 1, 2009 Report Posted August 1, 2009 (edited) I got sick of having so many project cars so I stripped the panelvan of all the 4ag bits and sold all the turbo bits including the GZE and in the course of a weekend I turned the ae71 sedan into a running and drivable (kind of) car which is probably something I should of done a long time ago, The car is currently at work so I can Modify the exhaust, Replace the clutch line, Install the fuel pump and sort out an accelerator cable. Specs: Engine: 4age bigport (originally from one of my AE82's) JDM water system & alternator brackets. Twin 45mm webers. TRD cory extractors & 2.5" exhaust (nelsons old one). 4age dizzy and coil. Hyperpak Ignition system. R1 wurks lightweigh undrive alt & WP pulleys. Standard AE71 radiator with modified AE71 hoses. Fedtro electric fuelpump (dak dak pump). Driveline: ADM T50 (freshly rebuilt by me). 1 piece tailshaft. Standard AE71 diff. Suspension & Brakes King LOWS front and rear. Standard rear shocks. ADM AE86 front struts and brakes. Standard AE71 rear drums. Wheels and tyres: 14 x 6 Bathurst Globes (not challengers). Front Tyre - 185/65. Rear Tyre - 205/60. Edited August 1, 2009 by Trev Quote

Gecko71 Posted August 3, 2009 Report Posted August 3, 2009 That's quite an impressive set-up. Any idea what the out-put would be? Quote
Trev Posted August 3, 2009 Author Report Posted August 3, 2009 That's quite an impressive set-up.Any idea what the out-put would be? Well the misses seca (4age auto, mild exhaust) makes 89.5whp on the dyno at work but I have seen 4age's with a few dollars spent on them make up to 110whp, I'm hoping to get 100 which I don't think is a big leap but I do think the stock cams will let me down. YAY Trev's back!!! :hmm: I am... Quote

Trev Posted August 4, 2009 Author Report Posted August 4, 2009 hey trev :) looking good! ae71's are the shiz... how did you go with t50 rebuild you mentioned? parts/price/difficulty etc? It wasn't a complete brand new rebuild, All the syncros and gear sets were perfect, I had to replace 2 bearings in it but it is practically like new now. Dunno if you know yet but I left road & track a few months back so you wont see me there. thats a very clean 71 you have there trev did you still want some rear springs for it?? Thanks, Nah I bought some new King Lows for it (in the car pictured) but they haven't settled yet. At last a good example of 4age with a real fuel system ,or am i just showing my age :hmm: Also looks a lot tider engine bay. With out all that cluter of fuel injection and wire bird nest cast over the motor . I like it great job ,i bet it sound good to. rob Hopefully it will be great once its on the road, That engine bay shot is actually not the final shots either (still doing wiring then). Alot of people comment on how clean the wiring is but I just like to take my time. Thanks, Sounds alright. Quote
