demuire Posted May 31, 2005 Report Posted May 31, 2005 Why a 308? And what sort of "racing" are you intending to do? Quote
308_rolla Posted May 31, 2005 Author Report Posted May 31, 2005 just family days at witon raceway and 308 go good with a lightened flywheel and a cam plus a few other things Quote
demuire Posted May 31, 2005 Report Posted May 31, 2005 Umm. Right. Oh well, it'll probably make the car rather front heavy... Quote
coln72 Posted May 31, 2005 Report Posted May 31, 2005 Yeah, I was thinking understeer. There was a Datsun 240K set up with a V8 in Bendigo and it handled like a piece of shit. Off road suspension and all the weight over the front...... Quote
kangaroosa Posted May 31, 2005 Report Posted May 31, 2005 Corolla + 308 = Drag Car or Summernats Burnout Car Quote
Tiger Posted May 31, 2005 Report Posted May 31, 2005 This sounds like my 253 thread! It would be very front end heavy, but this would make a killer strip car! Tub the arse end, 9" Detroit Locker, 2 speed powerglide, and go crazy one the 308... OK, I'll just shut up now! hahahahaha Deep breath Tiger... breathe in...... breathe out! Quote
Xany Posted May 31, 2005 Report Posted May 31, 2005 mate.....i'd just like to say something..... there was never a corrola made.....i got no idea where you got that from.... ITS COROLLA!!!!!!......dammit. Quote
Tiger Posted June 1, 2005 Report Posted June 1, 2005 Exactly Corolla + Maco = FUN TIMES!!!! hahahahaha Quote
Mr Revhead[RL] Posted June 1, 2005 Report Posted June 1, 2005 depends how they do it..... theres a class here called OSCA. Open Saloon Car Associaton basiclly run what ya brung.... a favorite of these were vauxhall vivas with 350 chevs in them. they handled very well. what you need to do though, is recess it into the firewall, move that weight back! look at your super saloon class..... Quote
coln72 Posted June 1, 2005 Report Posted June 1, 2005 Suppose you could space frame the car, sit the engine next to the driver and run as a sports sedan. I remember there was a supercharged 350 chev powered corolla at the summernats years ago. Think it ended up as a turbo rotary. It was the yellow and green one. Quote
Tiger Posted June 1, 2005 Report Posted June 1, 2005 That was Paul Cundy's Rolla with a blown 383 Chev in it.... my reason for liking Rollas orginally. WHAT A BEAST THAT WAS! And yes it now has a 13B rotary turbo from a series 4 RX7 in it. Ford 9" rear and Trimatic auto (crazy trannies once rebuilt for speed) Quote

Wheelstands off the line, and then it popped the wheels up again with every gearshift - Very Impressive. I also have a movie of a Green KE30 2 Door. They are pretty big, so i'll try and edit them down and post them up. Quote
