rolla20.. welcome aboard

And that is one sweet 202! If my old man saw that, he'd shed a tear and reminisce about his HZ Kingswood! :lolcry: Man... that rolla would move with a boosted 6 in it!

advice?

think it through in its entirety before starting up that oxy cutter. try and imagine the effect of metal removal, imagine where the stress is going to be diverted to if or when you get it going...don't rely on the roof or pillars to keep the chassis straight...if you're caging, integrate the cage to the chassis at lots of points. triangulate it. use gussets to improve the strength of the shell. if you're cutting into the firewall and or trans tunnel, use a thicker material to replace it with and overlap it with drilled welding holes to maintain its uniformity under stress....metal fatigue can rip metal in two like a tin can, think of your safety first and do NOT cut any corners. thats about it.....i need another beer.

hey guys,I'm not a computer nerd...so having trouble with a pic...got an engine bay shot on my profile pic though,so take a look....havnt cut fire wall,or touched transmission tunnel, has standard front suspension, just a recessed front cross member....no chassis mods what so ever!! no body twisting problems so far...just fuel consumption......oh and originally used factory wiring, including 4cyl coil and starter motor leads for first 3 months....ITS SO EASY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

take a look..

rolla 20, what master cylinder/booster and front brakes you have??

cheers

darren

:P hey untubbed

I'm using a master cylinder out of a later model rolla with a holden vn fluid container but can't remember what year, an the booster well its been taken off as my turbs sucked its guts out .

as for front brakes ke 30 , mate this thing stops on a dime. but don't put me to that as these brakes will be getting upgraded to something a lot better as well as struts an stuff.

thanks for your interest.

the advice from b-b-benne as for strength as far as firewall an tunnel goes it all done with thicker materials an welded , ive seen cars that have been pop riveted together. I'm in the middle of making a strut brace an a brace between the 2 chassie rails as like ford cortina which is just between where the motor an gearbox meets under the car.

ok thanks for your interest

adam :y: :P :P
