parrot Posted September 8, 2009 Report Posted September 8, 2009 Well seems to need a bit of work. I suppose you need to decide whether you can manage it financially and time wise. Remember - it doesn't need to be immaculate when you do it. But if you do decide to sell it on, at least you saved it from destruction for someone else. And you can plan for later on when the time is better. Quote
KEhendo Posted September 9, 2009 Author Report Posted September 9, 2009 shall we go through it logically: Sell It - do you need the space or the money desperately? not really. i'd like the money for the 20. Get It Going - do you plan on using it a few times a week and/or plan on doing a full resto on the KE20 later on? i'd like to use it as a comfy daily so i want to get it going asap. with the 20 i'm not going to 'resto' it as such, i'm going to make it nice. eg paint trims, cam+carb+exhaust. maybe a paint job down the track. Full Resto - do you want to use it as a weekend cruiser? probably not going to do a full resto on this. it's very rough and would take a lot of work. just going to tidy it up and leave it stock. performance is not it's strong point. (as you know) :y: think i'm going to leave this one for a while. it's not financially viable right now. it's not like i need three cars. (i also have a honda but don't tell anyone :worship: ) after last weeks cruise through the hills i remembered why i love my ke20 so much. Quote
parrot Posted September 9, 2009 Report Posted September 9, 2009 i also have a honda but don't tell anyone I VOTE BAN! Quote

KEhendo Posted September 10, 2009 Author Report Posted September 10, 2009 I VOTE BAN! thanks for your support, :P There is a guy on toymods selling MS55 parts if you need any. He is in Perth is the only challenge! cheers, i'll have to check him out. only thing i need is that front RHS indicator lens. BREAKING NEWS! last night i was helping a mate who knows nothing about cars install speakers in his daewoo(like i said, he knows nothing). going through his garage looking for some screws i found a.... wait for it... full original toyota motor tool kit for 1969 MS55 crown!!!!!!!!!!!! :jamie: i started freaking out and jumping around and my mates mum came out cos she thought i had been bitten by a spider or something. haha. the short story is that his dad bought a crown new in 1969 and for some reason kept the tool kit. then later his parents split and his mum got the tool kit by accident and just chucked it in the back of the garage. after seeing my reaction to finding it and realizing that it was her ex-husbands she was only too happy to give it to me for FREE! wooh for me! i've got to start going through more of my mates sheds. haha. :hmm: Quote
parrot Posted September 10, 2009 Report Posted September 10, 2009 PHOTOS And i will withdraw the call for ban! Quote
KEhendo Posted September 10, 2009 Author Report Posted September 10, 2009 yay! tool kit. :jamie: needs a clean but it's all there. reversible screwdriver spanners pliers wheel-brace, jack handle and spark plug socket. chock pretty happy with it. going to give it a clean and brush up then it's getting pride of place in the boot. parrot Posted September 11, 2009 Report Posted September 11, 2009 What, no diamond encrusted Crown monogram on each piece! Things like this are meant to happen, and are telling you that you need to keep this car Quote
KEhendo Posted September 11, 2009 Author Report Posted September 11, 2009 Things like this are meant to happen, and are telling you that you need to keep this car stop saying stuff like that. it's not good for my bank balance. Quote
parrot Posted September 13, 2009 Report Posted September 13, 2009 True, it's always very easy (and fun) to spend someone elses money for them. :no2: Quote

KEhendo Posted October 3, 2009 Author Report Posted October 3, 2009 thanks parrot, i need a good kick in the ass to get me moving on this. small progress, new spark plugs fitted. bought a RT40 mirror to fit to my car to replace the black plastic one. bought a pair of secondhand tyres for the front, still on the look out for another pair for the rear. large phone bills and no job not helping the progress. :) Quote
Doogs Posted October 4, 2009 Report Posted October 4, 2009 Nice score with the toolkit. stop saying stuff like that. it's not good for my bank balance. Then sell the Honda and put the $ towards your 2 cool cars :) Quote
