jader Posted July 22, 2009 Report Posted July 22, 2009 Hey everyone Had this one lying around and recentyl decided to fix it up. But everyone hates reading so here are some pics: Does this pic make it look more rounded at the back? interior has seen better days thats for sure The old... The new Unfortunately all of the seat are pretty bad. might try to get them re trimmed at some stage... will they look under a set of seat covers for rego? random corolla but i thouhgt it was an nice pic ke55 diff v tarago diff/ axle which ends up being about 60 mm longer overall i think Questions comments always appreciated Thanks guys Quote
Sam_Q Posted July 22, 2009 Report Posted July 22, 2009 wow looks like you have a lot of work ahead of you. Once done thought it should be a nice package. Have you checked out the 3sge conversion thread on ae86dc? Quote
36panvan Posted July 23, 2009 Report Posted July 23, 2009 nice engine choice mate :P what generation motor are you using and from which car? Quote
Hiro Protagonist Posted July 23, 2009 Report Posted July 23, 2009 nice engine choice mate :P what generation motor are you using and from which car? Looks like a Gen1, so that'd be an ST162 Quote
greenmac80 Posted July 23, 2009 Report Posted July 23, 2009 tarago is a good option... but what are the availability of LSD's? Quote
jader Posted July 23, 2009 Author Report Posted July 23, 2009 Have you checked out the 3sge conversion thread on ae86dc? don't think i have come accross that one yet... ill definately have a look when i get home thanks Looks like a Gen1, so that'd be an ST162 spot on, i was lucky (perhaps?) to pick up complete running gear from 2X st162 (from what i was told) celicas (one engine had damage, the other one is hopefully fine) for $300. tarago is a good option... but what are the availability of LSD's? don't know about that... what is the advantage of an LSD over whatever kind of diff is in their at the moment (excuse my ignorance)? but again i was lucky to have a tarago lyinng around. I'm using the gearbox, bellhousing, and rear axle things. (+ rear suspension). gearbox might be a bit weird (g52 from what i have researched) but its free and it fits so i can live with that. Thanks for the comments Quote
JiP Posted July 23, 2009 Report Posted July 23, 2009 Good start for a project mate. Oh thats a sad site to see a pano like that. You should save that too :y: Quote

Did either of those ST162s happen to have un-rusty sunroofs? :y: Just bought one myself and the sunroof is the only piece that has rust in it, by some miracle Quote

Got alot of other crap though Quote
jader Posted December 26, 2009 Author Report Posted December 26, 2009 here are a few more pics of the progress so far currently in etch primer rear guards flared by dad front guards, might be a bit over the top with the flares but it should look pretty good stripped interior, now i have to clean the floor pan and everything else taken the dash out completely. have since removed all of that wiring, steering wheel and accelerator gear. Tomorrow going to take off the brake master cylinder Early ke3x bonnet with chrome flutes Dusty dusty cars It's good to have time off to finally be able to get some work done on it. Its pretty much stripped right down ready for a good clean and a new engine. We are now thinking of what to do for sound deadening, but i might ask about that in a separate thread if I can't find any info on here. I'm in the process of removing the engine mounts from the tarago as they look like they might bolt up to the 3sge. Still have to sort out efi setup and actually mount the engine and gearbox. Quote
jackbyo Posted October 18, 2010 Report Posted October 18, 2010 damn all those last images didnt work.... and I'm interested to see it because it looks like you've got the exact same model and the only other ke55 in the same colour/trim as mine! check in the sig hope to see some progress pics cheers Quote
