yes i love corollas we all must to be on this site, and was thinking how much of hf / time and money would it be to put an eairly model hi ace engine in a corolla ke70. is there a better choice to make???? just out of curiosity.... also werent some of the ke 55 gear boxes made buy mercedes?

no some ke55 gearboxes weren't made by mercedes. the only non-toyota gearbox in a corolla was ke55/70 automatics, which were holden trimatics. same box as behind a 202 red motor, but with a different stall converter and bellhousing. and they weigh a ton

Then you're up for some work. 1.5ish is the biggest bolt in you'll get. Everything else requires modification to mounts, clutch, gearbox.... etc.

try a 7k, 1.8L comes out in a townace SBV from 97-02, EFI or caby.
