seabiscuit Posted July 14, 2009 Report Posted July 14, 2009 Hey everyone! I've got two KE20 shells that no one wants to buy and I'm going to cut em up cos they're quite rust-free, My question is what's the best bits to cut out and why? How to cut em out etc. was wondering if anyone could post up pics of a cut-out rear quarters etc. or a quick "outline" of where to cut as I don't want to cut out too much or too little. What other bits apart from rear quarters and perhaps sills are there I should cut out? If you haven't got a pic of your cut out bits, a quick drawing on a pic of a car of where I need to cut will do. Plus, if you're quick and you want a decent shell send me a PM or check out my topics. Thanks in advance, Vince! Quote
Tally Posted July 15, 2009 Report Posted July 15, 2009 there are a few ways you can do it... either take the long way which really in essence gets best results which is to unpick the panels by drilling out the welds... or just get the grinder out and cut it up... taking into account where each panel meets the other... cause basically as you know they make cars from multiple sheet metal moulds and they just weld them together to make a car... makes sense to pull it apart the way it was put together but usually no one can be stuffed so the most practical way is to just get the grinder out and cut cut cut!!! TE278U Posted July 15, 2009 Report Posted July 15, 2009 (edited) if the drivers side chassis rail and inner guard is almost rust free, i'm still interested. Sad that nobody wants complete shells  i will need right from the front of the car right back to where it goes under the drivers seat. almost the full 1/4 of the car from the firewall forward and floor down. and most of the way up the guard inside the wheel well. ideally it would be unpicked, or cut out generously so i could unpick it later. any idea on freight for a pallet/ loose to melbourne 3134? i'd imagine it could weigh up to 40kg? -Dave Edited July 15, 2009 by TE278U Quote
