ke71-rolla Posted July 11, 2009 Report Posted July 11, 2009 Hey was looking at my emissions diagram, and there's one bit labeled as the "canister", its situated in the front drivers side quarter, and true to its name looks like a big black canister, with one hose coming from pollution gear and another going towards the back of my car.....just curious  Quote
love ke70 Posted July 12, 2009 Report Posted July 12, 2009 charcoal cannister catches fuel vapour from the fuel tank, and gets drawn out in the right conditions by the carby when the car is running. don't remove it. one of the things they really will notice is missing if you get pulled up  Quote
RainWarriorDregs Posted July 26, 2009 Report Posted July 26, 2009 don't mean to hijack, but i've done a 32/36 conversion, can i just plug the end of that charcoal canister lead? its currently run into dumnmy pipes i plan to pump into the carby. Quote
love ke70 Posted July 26, 2009 Report Posted July 26, 2009 you really should keep the charcoal cannister connected...is there nowhere on the 32/36 you can run it to? Quote
kiahn Posted July 26, 2009 Report Posted July 26, 2009 ive looked at mine today and it drains straight out onto the road. will reconnect at some point but if you make it look real they wont know any diff as long as you don't have emissions diagram on your bonnet Quote
RainWarriorDregs Posted September 19, 2009 Report Posted September 19, 2009 you really should keep the charcoal cannister connected...is there nowhere on the 32/36 you can run it to? i donät think so, all there is on it is the timing advance one, can't remember the name. no other ones at all  Quote
seabiscuit Posted September 19, 2009 Report Posted September 19, 2009 i donät think so, all there is on it is the timing advance one, can't remember the name. no other ones at all  You can get a "T" to plumb up the vac and charcoal canister in one. I have done this on my 32/36 conversion. Quote
seabiscuit Posted September 19, 2009 Report Posted September 19, 2009 (edited) Pardon the double post! Edited September 19, 2009 by seabiscuit Quote
RainWarriorDregs Posted September 20, 2009 Report Posted September 20, 2009 You can get a "T" to plumb up the vac and charcoal canister in one. I have done this on my 32/36 conversion. but does that mean i would be losing vacuum pressure back into my charcoal cannister, coz assumably the pressure coming from the vacuum advance would be more than that of the pressure coming from the charcoal cannister, and air always goes where there is less pressure, hence screwing with my advance timing? or did i completely misunderstand what you just said? :jamie: Quote
