Tiger Posted February 24, 2006 Report Posted February 24, 2006 Any updates on this??? I was always curious to see the outcome of the custom wide bodykit Quote
David[RL] Posted February 25, 2006 Author Report Posted February 25, 2006 (edited) I'm still not finished with the bodykit / flares yet.. it takes VERY long time to do.. but stay tuned.. it will be finished before summer sometime else there isn't much work done to the car lately, but I'm going to sweden next weekend to get my dogshift gearbox repaired, as well transporting a new engine to my friend with a 4x4 240 turbo race car with 580wheel hp! I have also plans about building a new engine ( 4A-GE NA ).. aiming for 200hp+ as well a weight diagram to get the car down to 693kg excluded fuel and myself ( + 40-50kg, for the 10 point rollcage ) but I'm not sure about using 16v or 20v head..? 20v head cost less than shims under bucket for the 16v.. hehe :\ as well as some other projects.. can't tell you much yet.. but I can tell you this: 4x4 ke70 4agte, gze rods, piston, hks manifold, 3sgte turbo, etc.. tercel 4x4 front suspension and rear axle, this is going to be my new winter car :jamie: aiming for 300hp I don't think this has been done before? :D also me and a friend has also started a new starlet project: kp60 starlet, 3sgte engine, aiming for 500hp, but we will start with something more realistic untill we get to know the car.. ( about 300hp ) problems: sump is crashing with crossmember and steering rack.. so we decided to make it MID MOUNTED 3sgte with mr2 turbo rear suspension! :P hoping to get this car finished untill summer.. David[RL] Posted February 26, 2006 Author Report Posted February 26, 2006 haven't taken alot of pictures yet, is just gathering parts and stripping and seam welding the car at the moment also trying to figure out what centerdiff to use.. the tercel has something like front/rear 60/40.. but I want 60% at rear! I could might use the same setup as the 240 racecar: bmw centerdiff, vw golf frontdiff and volvo rear axle Quote
Tiger Posted February 27, 2006 Report Posted February 27, 2006 I'm subscribing to this one! Sounds like you still have your hands full! NICE! :D Enjoy.. I'll let you get back to work now :jamie: hahaha Quote
Dan Posted July 22, 2006 Report Posted July 22, 2006 Just read through this entire thread, whats happening with these cars? Real interested in them now!!!! Whats the status? Quote
demuire Posted July 25, 2006 Report Posted July 25, 2006 So very cool. Group B rally cars are so amazingly cool. Quote
David[RL] Posted July 28, 2006 Author Report Posted July 28, 2006 yeah! not very much has happend to the car lately, except that I have changed to the 2T-G engine because our stupid laws here in norway about engine conversion etc but I will swap back to the 4A-GE as soon as I get it road legal with 2T-G/1600ccm in the owners book I was at the MOT test today but they found some stupid that doesn't exist like rims not legal which they are!(15x6,5"ET18) and the bumpers removed also stripped the car for spot welding, not finished with that yet I've also bought a AE86 shell that I'm going to build a rallycross car ( like rally around a gravel track with 5 cars competing against eachother ) using a 3S-GE engine that I also have bought, but I'm going to use a 4.gen altezza head + some cams and using some sort of cheap engine management aiming for 250hp+ possible hilux rear axle with LSD, shimmed, W5* gearbox that I will soon get, with coilovers etc I've also got or let's say will get since I've not paid or picked it up yet, a TE71 coupe shell that I'm going to use this as a daily driver, but I'm not 100% sure with what engine I'm going to use yet with the front spoiler that is on the car, fender mirrors, lowering it alittle + some 14 or 15" wheels from that era, maybe GT rear wing if I can get it I think that might be a cool car! and build the white ke70 even more as a hardcore track car Quote
Biggo Posted July 28, 2006 Report Posted July 28, 2006 Biggo is now jelouse :lolcry: How can one man have soooo many cool cars????? Why God WHY!!!!!!!!! Quote
ancullen Posted August 1, 2006 Report Posted August 1, 2006 Friggin' hell, a TE71. That's AWESOME!!! I say go a T-motor with the twincam head. Turbo or naturally aspirated, doesn't matter. Although with all the rare cars you seem to be able to get over there I wouldn't be surprised if you could get a 4T-GTE, so use one of those. :lock_folder: Quote
David[RL] Posted December 10, 2006 Author Report Posted December 10, 2006 I've got the TE71 now.. the deal was that I was getting the chassis, and another guy here wanted the 2T-B, gearbox, rear axle and front suspension so I changed the engine and suspension for him as part of the price for the car well anyway, I got a few ke70 spare rear axles, so I mounted one of them and I also got a front suspension that was in very good condition with only 2 months old new calipers, brake discs and pads, and wheel bearings that I mounted on the TE71.. I also changed to the 2T-G engine I had in my KE70 but I don't have a picture of it yet the plan is to build a 4A-GE turbo engine, and I have gathered most of the parts: turbomanifold, t25 turbo, rods, but I'm missing GZE pistons, GZE injectors and a fuel management.. I'm most likely going to use the VEMS ECU as you can see the rear wheel arches has alot of rust so they need to be changed, and I'm also going to paint the car.. keeping it clean and oldschool! I've also bought a 1981 hilux 4wd with the 18R engine very cheap.. the engine isn't running very well so I have to change that first I adjusted the valves, bought new rotor and distributor cap and changed the spark plugs and guess what I found??? probably the part missing has destroyed the piston or valve so the engine is only running og 3 cylinders.. :P luckely I know a guy that has a few 18R engine so I will buy one from him for cheap my KE70 getting seamwelded at the moment and when I'm done with that I'm changing back to the 4A-GE!! the AE86 is untouched, same with the 4x4 project and the flares Quote
ancullen Posted December 11, 2006 Report Posted December 11, 2006 Good to hear from you again and see that you're still working on your projects. Keep up the good work! Quote
