Hi all,

I have a 1989 F reg AE92 GTi-16 with the tvis 4age.

I'm 14 and the engine is coming out in a month for an overhaul that I'll be doing myself at home to get some of the horses back. Its done 81k miles and I have purchased a TRD 20% uprated Heavy-Duty Clutch, Ashley Exhaust System and a GREEN Power-Flow Twin Cone air-filter, which will all hopefully get me to 140BHP

There is a lot of rust on the offside front arch and the nearside rear arch and on the struts inside the car, but I will be getting it sorted soon and will then have it resprayed in white. I have already replaced the tailgate with a smoothed over tailgate and I have soldered the cut wires and insulated them. I have also purchased a few exterior mods such as crystal clear side-repeaters and I will be getting new headlamp, sidelights and clear tail-lights. (Not lexus! I don't want ot to look chavvy!) I will later be getting new ROTA rims in bronze too. The strut brace has been sprayed red by me too.

Mechanical-wise, I'll be fitting new late-spec Black Diamond discs front and back, with a brake line kit and restored calipers all round.

The interior has a flip-up DVD player, MOMO Gear-Knob, Steering Wheel, Hand-Brake and Pedals. I have sprayed parts of the centre black instead of the old blue-grey and have fitted 2 Alpine 180W speakers. I reconditioned the carpet so it's nice and fluffy again and will be purchasing SPARCO floor mats soon. There are MOMO shoulder-pads at the front and TRD pads at the back for comfort. I removed the sound-proofing all round so that the exhaust would sound louder with the engine and the car would be lighter.

No-way am I getting a body-kit for this!

I was going to a while ago, but after my work-experiance, I realised how much work really does go into prepping and spraying them. And If I'm honest, I like the standard kit anyway. :sob:

I will be getting a Head Set, TRD 0.8mm Head Gasket to raise the compression ratio, BMC Exhaust Fitting kit, Jap oil and fuel filters and NGK Iridium sparkies! I will put it back together myself the weekend before I go back to school. :P Christmas should also bring new smoked Headlamps and Sidelights, aswell as a Cusco Rear Strut-Brace.

Here's my TOC Build Thread: http://toyotaownersclub.com/forums/index.p...t=0&start=0

It's also in the registry where all of my mods are listed. :yes:

Thanks for comments and reading.

Hi all,

Because I am moving house, the motor has to go back together simply for transportation.

Here are some pictures;

I am struggling to remove the snap rings that hold on the CV Tripod though, does anyone know what I can do to get it off to replace the gaiter?

Thanks
