I was afraid of that, but hey, I'm spending bucks on it as is now, so I may as well spend more to get that done.

I'll work something out :)

OK... final inspection details

Body:

Overall is straight, rear RHS door has a slight dent in it

Rust wise, we have a small portion under the petrol tank lid, the rear windscreen and the front bumper. Everything else is surface rust and can be dealt with easily.

Interior:

Straight! Dash has no cracks... original stereo (eek!), no a/c (which I'm happy about, that's why I get a sunroof instead) trims are spot on, seat covers are on (who cares, front seats are going and in come the cobras, and the back get's rebuilt!)

Engine: Oily (as most are at that age) doesn't blow smoke and starts first turn! I love it!

Drive:

Runs good considering it wasn't driven for 10 months! Clutch is the first thing to go I believe! I does slips a little. The driveshaft may need checking too.

Miscellaneous:

Brakes could be better, tyres have heaps of tread, I even got half a tank of petrol! WOO HOO!

OK.... now the work begins!

This has been on hold as stupid me forgot to get a receipt off the previous owner as proof of purchase... DOH! It's been a while. hahaha

NOW I can go and get my 28 day permit... More later

Feel free to gimme ideas and tips on what/how to do. I roughly know what I wanna do with this project, however, anything you may say that sparks my attention may be taken into some SERIOUS consideration (providing it's tasteful enough) :P

looks awesome, we didn't get that body after '78. the steering wheel is on the wrong side, though.

tips;

don't go putting 17" or 16"

stick with old school 14" dish stlye wheels

Very nice!

Makes my car look like crap. haha. i got rust ina few places. mainly rear quarters and fuel filler area, couple of dents on the r/h rear C pillar and a couple of small ones in the roof. Nothing that can't be fixed though.

Should have my car back on the road when i get back from QLD, which will be in 2-3 weeks.

Until then "take care of yourselves...andddddddd each other"

Well, surprisingly it is straight.. but the rust spots are where my main concern are. They are repairable (easily) so I'll get hacking into them asap. I may even do a tutorial on body repair just incase one hasn't been done? Or has it? Regardless, I'll be taking snaps for the repair in process, as with every other action on this car. Unlike the other Rolla I had, I ain't hiding a moment spent on this project. Should be worth it.

Thanks for the comments boys... and notice the new rear sticker? :P

Well done. Great to see another ke55 on the way to greatness. Those rust spot around the rear window can be a bitch. Started cleaning them up and ended up replacing half the boot rubber support

Yeah, done the same trick with my KE35 I had prior to this! Hahaha! Fun and games... gotta love the rust, keeps you on your toes with any project!

Oh, and welcome to Rolla Club too :P

Nah, he's cool.

He's just s**t stirring me... coz his rolla is bling bling and mines BANG BANG (for the moment) :)

Don't worry harps... I'll get this thing rolling :D Mark my words.

HA HA!!!

I know what I'm doing there... repaired my first corolla.... see this thread

Sold this beast to my mate for work and run around purposes... this does not mean it's the last rolla I see.

New thread will be started later with new buy. :)
