ke71-rolla Posted June 28, 2009 Report Posted June 28, 2009 (edited) Hey guys, noticed on my ke70 when i rev it up to about 2.5k the engine consistently has a falter, the revs dip a little, almost like a rough idle only at higher revs, could it just need to be serviced and tuned? Also when accelerating at about 4k there's a sound as if someones got an electric saw in my engine bay and grinding it against some metal, could this be the fan? Engine almost sounds as if its running low on oil, but i've checked and it says its full...hasn't used any oil since i bought it =s=s Any help would be appreciated, just getting a bit paranoid is all ^_^ also engine has only done about 120 000k's Hey also been tryiong to get my tow ball off and the bumper, the bolts which hold the bracket to the car look as if they are rusted stiff, any tips or tricks to get em loose, tried dousing em with rp7....maybe not the best idea, really any ideas would be greatly appreciated, thanks Edited June 28, 2009 by ke71-rolla Quote
nichy Posted June 30, 2009 Report Posted June 30, 2009 ratchet and a large pole :) leverage is the key mine took ages to get out as they were rusted on..... and just when you think it comes loose..it will tighten again but harder lol i was sweating after one bolt.. was a kent !!!! Quote
ke71-rolla Posted July 13, 2009 Author Report Posted July 13, 2009 lol yeahhh, i been goind at em, even resorted to drilling em out,l but not much success with that, ill continue with the long bar! Quote
kiahn Posted July 13, 2009 Report Posted July 13, 2009 service and tune wouldnt hurt. as for the bolts try soaking them with WD40 or the like every 30 mins for a few hours, if that doesnt loosen it up then you might have to get the impact drivers out Quote
Jimpoole Posted July 13, 2009 Report Posted July 13, 2009 As for the engine: Could it be the timing chain against the cover? Perhaps you could actually check the oil pump for blockages or whatever? Quote
7shades Posted July 14, 2009 Report Posted July 14, 2009 Borrow an oxy and melt those godawful bolts off. Replace them with nice new stainless ones and a couple of flat washers. Quote
Tally Posted July 14, 2009 Report Posted July 14, 2009 the rear bumper off a KE70 is taken off by opening the boot and popping the plastic grommets off to get access to the the bolts in the chassis rails? hope your not getting em from underneath? nuts are welded on from factory... Quote
7shades Posted July 14, 2009 Report Posted July 14, 2009 I just oxied the whole lot off... captive nuts and all. Sooo much easier now  Quote
