philbey Posted June 28, 2009 Report Posted June 28, 2009 (edited) Yeh, I get you perfectly. What I'm trying to say is that with a metal-metal-metal contact setup, you wont see much change. You will conduct heat directly from your hot exhuast header, via the stainless sheet and straight into your inlet manifold. Edited June 28, 2009 by philbey Quote
SLO-030 Posted June 28, 2009 Report Posted June 28, 2009 (edited) Maybe not as much tho, seeing is its just a flat surface with less surface area that the heat sink in the bottom of the intake manifold. There may be a little change but probably so small it may go unnoticed. But along the lines of what coln72 said, even if it makes 1% improvement, its still an improvement. vagen Posted June 28, 2009 Author Report Posted June 28, 2009 one thing I noticed about the intake is the heat sink is recessed a bit so the only metal to metal contact is around the gasket surface so I may have a larger reduction in inlet temps than anticipated. either way it does smooth the exhaust flow for those two ports a bunch.
