Mr Revhead[RL] Posted May 30, 2005 Report Posted May 30, 2005 looks like we have similar plans.... I'm running an sc12 on a stock internaled ae92 bigport engine.... has aw11 s/c ecu etc, will be dynoing it with in a coupla months, so ill let ya know how it goes. after iv sorted the suspension il be looking at building another engine, and i had sc14 in mind too.... ancullen Posted May 30, 2005 Report Posted May 30, 2005 Did the AE92 have the same supercharger pulley as the AW11 or the AE101? And I take it you're still running 9.4:1 compression. That'd be cool. Quote
Mr Revhead[RL] Posted May 30, 2005 Report Posted May 30, 2005 the map 4agze runs a different pulley, not sure on the boost increase. yes still 9.4:1  doing the waterpump etc at the mo, after that, its dyno time  Quote
1G-GTE KE70 Posted May 30, 2005 Author Report Posted May 30, 2005 CA18?? I saw a pretty one today on a HPI dvd. hmmm DAMMIT TOO MANY ENGINES TO CHOOSE FROM! Quote
1G-GTE KE70 Posted May 31, 2005 Author Report Posted May 31, 2005 and it's a VG30DETT  yeah all that weight and space for some dunger v6. Inline 6 all the way. but the track car will be 4 banger. it has to turn and stop as well  Most likely CA18DET. grrr... too many engines (sounds familiar haha) Quote
demuire Posted May 31, 2005 Report Posted May 31, 2005 Nooooo, VG30DETT  Like this silly Datto 240K  See, perfect doriftor capabilities (and this was running Yoko A032R semi slicks too) Funnily enough, it didn't even once lap me in Pinky (32hp bog stock KE55 with Corona brakes, running cheapo $90 tyres). Lost me easily down the straight, but I caught up easily through all the corners. Then again, I don't think anyone lapped me at all, through the entire day, which was rather surprising... I suppose I was only out for 3 or 4 laps at a go (car kept overheating), but even then... A lot of the cars there that day had in excess of 200hp... Quote
Mr Revhead[RL] Posted May 31, 2005 Report Posted May 31, 2005 a v6 is more compact then a inline 6... and the vg30 is still a POS Quote
1G-GTE KE70 Posted May 31, 2005 Author Report Posted May 31, 2005 (edited) its shorter but they are really really wide so you can't fit shit in beside them. but yeah VG30DETT's are dodgy. hmm, i need new spark plugs, oh wait let me get my engine crane so i can pull the engine out. and theres like barely enough room in the stock engine bay for bigger turbos so i doubt there will be any in a KE. but yeah too heavy/too big thats a nice looking datto but. VG30DETT Power density 5.61 CA18DET Power density 6.8 (taken from http://english.auto.vl.ru) Edited May 31, 2005 by 1G-GTE KE70 Quote
demuire Posted May 31, 2005 Report Posted May 31, 2005 That Datto was a fun looking car. Rose jointed, adjustable everything. Had far too much power for it's own good, took off like a rocketship, and didn't need any persuasion to cut sideways when desired. So much fun. Quote
